violently all over the North and West and
In fact was general throughout tho United
States At that tlmo I was driving an en-
gine in Nebraska running Into Ilncolu I
was the only engineer who succeeded In
getting In on hte run that day and I tell
you 1 had a terrible tlmo with tho snow
and tho cold I plunged through snow-
drifts that completely covered the engine
Afer getting through 1 would have to slop
to ehovel out the snow and patch tho
planks that covered the call windows I
had on a heavy Chinchilla overcoat and a
rubber roat over that but when I arrived
at Lincoln tho snow had drifted under my
coats till I was wet to tho waist When I
got U my trousers had frozen so stiff that
they broke when 1 walked j was nearly
frozen myself The next morning my en-
gine was a sight It had died In the yards
and was frozen through and through It
was covered with snow Newspaper men
