The Alto Night Owls will

very busy getting their
projects ready for the
Cherokee County Jr.
Livestock Show to be held
in Jacksonville March 18-
20. Members are reminded
that in order to enter their
project as a member of the
club a filled in project form
showing the progress of
their project, plus the
selling of 10 beef tickets
supporting Jana Sessions is
required.
Program for the club
meeting will be a slide
show on Bicycle in
preparation for the County
4-H Project Show in April.

I his emergency service, which has been operating most successfuly since 1979. A result of
cooperation by your city and county governments, and most importantly..by the paid mem-
berships of the folks who support this vital community service.
1982 MEMBERSHIP FEES: $40 fee covers complege family (husband, wife and all children
under 21 living at home) $25 fee covers individuals. These fees provide service to Tyler,

transfers ha\e been used there will he a charge of $1 per loaded mile and a $25 per hour
watting churge at the hospital or clinic.
This mergency unit is presently operated by one paid emergency medical technician and a
paid driver.
W hih* ties is a non-profit operation, everyone must be aware of the tremendous costs involved
ii> maintaining this unit to he able to answer calls 24 hours per day seven days per week.
In addition to paid employees there is insurance, communication equipment, fuel and upkeep
and maintenance of a vehicle which must be kept in top hsape for immediate use at any time of
day or night. Also there is telephone expense, laundry expense, and medical supplies which
m lude ixygen, etc. Actual expenses for this year's operation will amount to about $25,000.

The February meeting of
the Alto Country Fair
Committee was held Feb.
19, at the Southwestern
Electric Building.
Items discussed at the
meeting included the selec
tion of judges for the
exhibit hall, printing costs,
and the amount the fair
committee is allotted each
year for advertising from
the Cherokee County
Tourism Fund.
Mr. Hugh Simer is
President of this year’s
fair. Once again the fair
will be held outdoors in
downtown Alto.
The dates for this year’s
event will be Oct 15, 16,
and 17,1982
