Si. John Evangelical Lutheran
Church of Meyersville
Sunday School begins at 9 a.m.
with adults meeting in the old
stone church.
Worship services are at 10:15
a.m. and Rev. William
Laubenberg’s sermon is “The
Voice in the Wilderness.”
Trinity Bible study will begin at
7 p.m. on Monday.
The Cuero Area Ministerial
Alliance will meet Tuesday at 10
a.m. and the ALCW general
meeting of the auxiliary will meet
at 7 p.m. in the parish house.
Dorcas Circle will hostess the
meeting and Bible study of the
circles.
On Wednesday, Junior
Lutherans will meet at 3:30 p.m.
and travel to Retama Manor
West to take decorated bags of
Christmas cookies along with
song and Scripture readings.
Confirmation Year 1 will meet at
6 p.m. and Year II at 7 p.m.
Choir rehearsal will begin at 7:30.
Laubenberg will administer
private Communion in member’s
homes throughout Thursday.
Ladies will meet at the Parish
House at 1;30 p.m. for an after-
noon of quilting.
On Friday, members of the
Prayer Group will meet at 3:30
p.m. and on Satuiday, Dec. 12,
members of the Young Adults
Group will meet at 6 p.m. in the
home of Pam and Terry Haun
for a Christmas Caroling
Hayride. Members are also to ex-
change presents.
First United Methodist Church
The Rev. Kent Kinard is
pastor.
Worship services are held at
8:30 and 11 a.m. with the
Cooperative Sunday School at
9:45.
District Superintendent Joe
Ray will deliver Sunday’s sermon
and a luncheon will follow. The
Church Conference will begin
after lunch.
At 5 p.m. the Joy Sunday
School Class will have a pro-
gressive dinner and at 5:30 the
Junior and Senior EMPS will
meet.
On Monday at 7 p.m. the
UMW annual luncheon will be
held at noon and on Tuesday at
10 a.m. members of the Cuero
Area Ministerial Alliance will
meet in Faith Hall.
Choir practice will be held
Wednesday at 7 p.m.
First Presbyterian Church
The Rev. Harvey Friedel is
pastor.
The Second Sunday of Advent
will be observed with Holy Com-
munion. The sermon by Rev.
Friedel will be “Prepare The
Way” and the Children’s Sermon
is “In Modern Dress.”
Special music by the choir is
“Only Trust Him.’"
Worship services begin at 11
a.m. and Sunday School at 9:45.
On Tuesday at 11 a.m.. Circle 1
will have a Christmas Luncheon
at the home of Nancy Blackwell.
Also on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. the
adult choir will practice fof the
Christmas program, Dec. 13 at 7
p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church.
Sunday, Dec. 13, a special
food offering for the CAMAL
House will be taken. Special food
gift boxes will be provided.
On Sunday, December 20, the
Joy Gift Offering will be receiv-
ed.

On December 7 at 6 p.m. the
annual Parish Meeting will be
held. There will be a covered dish
supper and on Thursday, Dec.
10, at 4:30 p.m., Women of the
Church will hold their Christmas
party in the home of Rosemary
Kokernot.
Services this Sunday will be
held at 8 and 11 a.m. and at 9:45
adult education classes will be
held. Junior and Senior EMPS
will meet Sunday afternoon.
The youth choir practice will
be held Tuesday at 3:30 and the
adult choir will meet at 6:30.
