RULES OF CONTEST
FRIZES. The several prizes shall stand. on an equal
footing and shall be given tib the candidates receiving the
greatest number of votes in the following manner. The
candidate getting the greatest number of votes shall’take
first choice of all the prizes, the one receiving the next
greatest number the second choice and so on until all
premiums are exhausted.
CANDIDATES: Auy church, school, young peoples’
society, lodge, or other public organization not organized
for financial gain, or any individual who is not connected
with the Record force or related to a member thereof *or
to any of. the firms issuing coupons may enter as a
contestant.
VOTES: Votes^will be cast at this office and will be
given at the rate of 4^H) votes for a three months’ sub-
• scription to the Daily Record and 400 votes for one yearly
subscription to the Weekly Record. Renewal subscrip-
tions count the same as new subscriptions. No subscrip-
tions for less than three months will count and longer
time will count at same proportioual rates. Commercial
coupons will count at the rate of 100 votes for each one
dollar’s worth of purchase in all amounts above five cents.
Votes once cast for one candidate cannot be changed,
and a candidate cannot dfraw out of this contest and
transfer votes to any other candidate.
'CASTING OF VOTES: Votes may he csfet in person
or sent by mail, but ip all instances party sending should
keep record of the number of votes seat, and write
plainly the name and address of the candidate for whom
the votes are cast, as no person ^connected with fim
office will suggest the name of any candidate to be
voted for.
COUPONS: All (ring taking* part in the contest^will
be supplied at all times with coupons and will issue them
to persons trading with them under the rules of the con-
test, at the rate of one vote for each one cent’s worth of
cash purchase on all amounts above five cents; no
coupons will be made below five.
Copies of these rules will be kept at all places whore
coupons are given out, by all contestants and persons
desiring may see them at any time by asking at these
places or calling at this office.
The contest will be closed at the close of business on
Saturday, June 12,1909. But, that outside contestants
may have equal break with local contestants, votes
mailed to the Record bearing post mark of not later
Sunday, June 13, and reaching the Record office by the
early Monday morning train, June 14, will be counted
and the result announced
that day.
