The Halloween celebration was
very much enjoyed by all the lit-
ele folks. Down in the Assembly
hall were placed three tubs of
water and much laughing was
caused by the children bobbing
for the apples. The High school
room were the “spectators.’’
The Refugio county Teachers
Institute will convene in our
High School building this year,
from Nov. 29, to Dec. 3, 1915.
Twenty-five teachers will be pres-
ent and we shall be glad to have
them with us:
It is not an uncommon thing
to see our lady teachers out on
the country road, not lost but
just out for a morning walk.
Another month will soon be up
and examinations are the cry
this week.
We have a new pupil with us
this week, Clyde Low from Re-
fugio.
All the teachers expect to at-
tend the Texas State Teacher’s
Association at Corpus Christi,
which meets on Nov. 25 to 27.
Our visitor call was answered
almost to our satisfactian Friday
evening when Mr. and Mrs, J.
W. Borden and family, Mrs How-
ard and children, Mrs. Horace
Walker and Inez Thomas came to
enjoy the afternoon and see if
our school work was “good.”
We appreciated their visit very
much and wish they and many
more would come again.
At the Halloween Party Friday
evening several of the teachers
had their fortune told. All are
well pleased with same. For
more particulars consult them
privatelv.
Be careful and not leave the
picture in your book you loan to
the teacher.
The eighth grade has finished
geography and taken up Ritche
Human Physiology.
Notice, to boys especially: Be
very careful how you handle Ab-
ner’s book satchel and don’t tear
the straps off of it.
Max Walker and Edgar Thom-
as went to Corpus Friday to at-
tend the big show, and enroute
they say they were the first to
cross the new causeway, even if
they did have to wade part of the
way. They are back in school
today making fine grades.
Louis Borden is petting a boil
on his left cheek.
Our two high school girls that
were so fidgity last week are be-
having very nicely this week.
Paul Coster made his first ap-
pearance in long trousers last
week.

advice, and thei 1 drove the car
that took the cor tracting couple to
their doom” an d speaking of the

money to have a windmill put up
at the Catholic parsonage there.

table,’ and wit hout waiting for
me to stop the car he began
crawling out th e back end to lo-
cate ‘em.” Continuing, Mabry
said: “We suijfe had lots of fun
out of Bill.” J
The question naturally arises:
Whose going 10 “ramrod” Ma-
bry’s affair, an d who then is apt
to forget his head—and whose
going to have t he fun then?
Never mind, Bill, just keep
your eyes op en—rumor has it

watchful waiting—thi|Cs all.
