Alto Girl Travels To Germany
Miss Teresa Wain wright,
daughter of the Rev. and
Mrs. Thomas Wain wright,
left this week on a very
special trip to Germany.
Teresa, who was the
valedictorian of her Alto
High School graduating
class this year, left June 7
from D/FW airport for a
two-week tour of all the
armed forces bases in
Germany.
During this time, 15
young people (three from
Texas) and four adult
sponsors will be working
with the resident foreign
missionary of the United
Pentacostal Church. They
will be having services
nightly on the bases and
passing out tracts and
working with the U.S. ser-
vicemen in Germany.
Teresa had to raise all
her expense money on her
own to make this trip. She
appealed to many of the
local businesses and
several donations were
given to help her raise the
needed funds to make the
trip. In talking to The Alto
Herald about her upcoming
trip last week, Teresa ex-
pressed her deep ap-
preciation to everyone who
Teresa Waintoright
has helped to make the trip
a reality for her.
In the fall Teresa will at-
tend Tyler Junior College.
She has received one of the
first of the Dean’s Scholar-
ships. These are given to
graduating seniors in
recognition of outstanding
academic achievement. It
provides an annual stipend
of 31,000. Teresa hopes to
be able to go into
missionary work someday
She will work on a Liberal
Arts degree in the fall.
