Scenes Around Kountze
Pictured above are more of the elementary students who
wanted their picture taken when they saw the first little group.
This group was so large that the camera simply couldn't get
them all.
.... JM
Pictured above are some of the students shown on their first
day at school. For some of them, this was their first day per-
iod, but they were so cute and giggling you couldn't tell who
was there for the first day or if they were starting the second
or third grade.
The Kountze Lions are shown above in a inter-squad schrimmage, Reds against Whites.
The Lions are really showing a lot of desire and ability at moving the pig skin. They are
sure to give the Oilers a good game.
DALE WILLIS, 20,
INJURED IN WRECK
Dale Willis, 20, Kountze
Youth was seriously in-
jured Monday night at about
9:30. He was returning from Kir-
byville to Kountze when a truck
hit a car and jackknifed in front
of Dale. Witness said that th^
left side of Dale's car looked as
if it had been cut by a knife and
the car was completely totaled.
Reports have said that Dale was
alone in his car but the close
brush he had indicates that he
had a very protecting force rid-
ing with him.
Dale sustained a broken ankle,
broken leg, crushed left elbow,
and a broken jaw. He was taken
to Kountze and then to St. Eliz-
abeth in Beaumont,, He was in
surgery over six hours. His jaw
was wired up and a pin was put
in his leg.
Dale is in Room 225 at St.
Elizabeth hospi tal. The Pine
Needle would like to urge all
of his many friends to send get-
well cards, and visit when hhs
condition permits. Dale is known
