A. L. Jennings, formerly of: Aran-
sas Pass, but now of Sinton, suffered
a painful accident last Saturday when
a small piece of steel hammer became
lodged in his hand. Three X-ray ex-
posures had to be taken, before the
fragment of steel could be located.
Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Evans, of Kan-
sas City, Mo., accompanied by Mrs.
Newton Cable and children of Corpus
Christi, were Aransas Pass visitors
last Friday. Mr. Evans owns some
good property in Aransas Pass and
contemplates locating here some time
in the near future.

Mrs. Belle McCoy and two grand-
children left Sunday for their home
in Texas City, after an extended stay

looking after property interests. They

rough rider, was in the city Monday
evening arranging with Albert War-
ren to appear in person at the Acme
Theatre last night.
John Q. MAdams, prominent
banker of Winters, Tex., and A. K.
Doss, attorney of Ballinger, Tex., are
spending a few days fishing at Aran-
sas Pass and Port Aransas.
H. T. Beckwortli, formerly superin-
tendent of schools in Sinton, now
a candidate for the office of County
Superintendent, was in Aransas Pass
Tuesday looking ajfter his political
interest.
V. V. Daniels, formerly editor and
manager of the Corpus Christi Times
and now candidate for the office of
District Clerk of Nueces county, was
in the city Wednesday on his way to
Port Aransas to look after his political
interests. Mr. Daniels is an exeellent
newspaper man and should he be
elected to the office he seeks, he will
take to it all the courtesy and effi-
ciency that made his newspaper career
a success.

Mrs. Virginia C. Scliuchman and
Mrs. Margaret Rott. of Pittsburg. Pa.,
who have been the guests of Dr. H.
H. Blankmeyer and family, left Wed-
nesday for Los Angeles, California,
and will go from there to Honolulu,
Hawaii, before returning home. Mrs.
Schuchman is a cousin of Mrs. Blank-
meyer. The ladies were delighted with
their Aransas Pass visit, especially
their trip over the terminal railway
to Port Aransas, their visit to the
coast, guard station and the light
house and their trips to Ransom
island and Nine Mile Point.

who was formerly engaged in the
bakery business here, has returned
and is opening another bakery in the
building with ihs brother, I. L. Roddy

Mrs. O. H. Ohipman and children,
of Galveston, is visiting her uncles,
Frances and John Frondolig and
their families. She will also visit in
Port Aransas and Rockport before re-
turning home.
Gospel Meeting
Brother Bonham, of Corpus Christi,
will begin a series of gospel sermons
Sunday morning, June 17th, at 11
o’clock at the Church of Christ on
South Houston street. Evening ser-
vices will be held throughout the com-
ing week at 8 o’clock. Everyone is
cordially invited and urged to come.

attend a meeting of the State Board of

Geo. Williams, of the American
(Railway association, (and wife, are
the guests of Mrs. Williams’ sister,
Mrs. J. J. Todd. They have been
taking an annual vacation in Aran-
sas Pass for the past eighteen years
and they like it better each succeeding
year. They say it cannot be excelled
as a recreational resort.
Mac Crenshaw and family have re-
turned from Harlingen, Tex., and
again expect to make Aransas Pass
their home. “Harlingen and other
towns in the valley are good,” said
Mr. Crenshaw, “but none can be com-
pared with Aransas Pass and its po-
tentialities for becoming a large city.
Aransas Pass and the deep waterway
of Port Aransas have the brightest
outlook of any point in South Texas.”
