AN OIL LEASE IS A BUY. NOT A BET!
Oil is likely to be found at any spot in the Fort Stock-
ton Field and if it happens to be found near your lease,
or if your lease is favorably located, geologically, you do
not have to wait for action when oil is struck, as there
will be a grand rush to buy up all the leases in the vicinity
and fabulous offers will come over night. Then it is up
to you to cash in and take down wonderful profits or
“sit tight.”
An Oil Lease gives you exclusive control of your mon-
ey and in that respect is much better than buying stock,
which is subject to the manipulations of the officers who
always control things. An Oil Lease is handled just the
same as any other real estate. It is a commercial instru-
ment and is recorded by the County Clerk just the same
as a farm deed. As the owner of an Oil Lease you may
sell all or any part of it at your pleasure.
Fortunes are Made by Investments Not by Sweat!
No man ever founded a for-
tune or accumulated great wealth
by physical labor, alone. He
who works with his hands,
alone, may make a scant living,
but he will never accumulate
comfortable wealth. He may
never lack the actual necessities
of life, but he will never enjoy
its luxuries. The same is true
of any man whose income is lim-
ited. Whether he works for a
salary, cultivates the soil, or is
a day laborer, the same rule ap-
plies. If he desires to get ahead
in the world he must take a
chance, by making his money
work for him. “From mere phy-
sical exertions, hard manual lab-
or alone, however much he may
save and economize, it is impos-
sible for him to ever accumulate
any considerable amount of
means.
As water seeks its level, so
dollars flow to dollars. Once a
man nerves himself to take a
chance—makes a start—and gets
his money working for him,
there is nothing surprising in
the way it will multiply. But
there is one thing sure: the man
I
who does not make a start will
never have a chance to pull down
big money. Most all of us are
anxious to make money, and
everyone of us would be wealthy
today if, when the right kind of
opportunity presents itself, w'e
would take advantage of it with-
out dillydallying—waiting to see
if others are going to buy and
make money. Do you know that
bigger and quicker money is
made in Oil Leases than in any
business on earth? That is a
proven fact.

To that man who has a small amount of money that he desires to put to
work we appeal. We have, we almost know, a w ell drilling that is going to
bring in oil. We are spending a big sum of money because we have full
faith in our location. Geologists tell us—experienced oil men tell us—and
our knowledge of the oil drilling game, gained by work in many fields, tells
us, that we are located “right.” We have secured acreage large enough so
that we may sell one-half of it and still leave us plenty to make every mem-
ber of our company rich beyond the dreams of the most avaricious. We
are trying our best to play reasonably safe and for that reason we decided
that common-sense and discretion should govern our actions. Common-
sense tells us that we may fail of getting oil in the first hole that we drill
and that a disposition to “hog” the deal and hold all of our acreage might
prove our undoing. Common-sense dictates that we sell sufficiently of our
acreage so that we shall have capital with which to drill another well, on
any one of several favorable sites, in the event that the well we are now
drilling fails of bringing in the production that we expect. Common-sense
tells us not to put all of our eggs in one basket. This is the reason for our
offering to you that which we honestly believe is a good buy for you. We
are releasing 2,000 acres for sale—1,000 acres at $1.50 per acre, 500 acres
at $2.50 per acre and 500 acres at $5.00 per acre. Values governed solely by
distance from the well—the famous “David” w’ell. Every acre a potential
drilling site! And as we are checker-boarding the acreage that we are of-
fering for sale the next well we drill may be right jam up against your lease.
Humphreys—the old reliable—is our drilling superintendent and treas-
urer, and it is his ripe experience and integrity that we are backing and
relying upon. If you do not buy some acreage around the “David” well, we
tell you with all the sincerity at our command, you are passing up a splendid
opportunity to get into the Fort Stockton Field, at a nominal cost, at a time
when the “getting is good.”
The
We want you to read this carefully. We want you to buy a ten-acre
lease—or more—but we want you to act with full intelligence. We must
complete this sale in 30 days, otherwise advertising costs and office ex-
penses will take too large a share of the proceeds. For this reason we
want you to buy and buy at once. The sooner you buy, regardless of what
priced acreage you desire, the more advantageously will it be located. First
come, first served! Keep this in mind: W’e are not liars, we are not
thieves! You may send your money right now, without first taking time
for investigating our reliability and our statements and if you find, later on,
that any one of the following things are not true, we will refund your money.
