came the bride of John T. Meek
of Houston, son of Mrs. Mattie
Meek of Waco, in a ceremony
performed in the First Baptist
Church here Saturday, February
9, at 7:00 p. m., with Rev. F. B.
Sampson officiating,
Mrs. C. E. Farley played the
traditional wedding marches, and
sang “Because” and “I Love You
Truly” accompanied by Miss Dor- j
othy Palmer.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her brother, J. L. Car-!
ter. She wore a grey gabardine
suit with black accessories. Her
corsage was of white carnations.
The maid of honor was Miss
Nelda Bee Adamson of Corpus
Christi who wore a blue suit with
black accessories and a corsage
of yellow jonquils.
George Wood of Houston was
the best man.
A reception was held at the
home of the bride’s parents fol-
lowing the ceremony. A white
wedding cake ornamented the
bride’s table. Mrs. J. L. Carter
and Mrs. A. R. Carter, sisters-in-
law of the bride served the cake
and punch.
Following their wedding trip
the couple will be at home in
Houston. The bride was grad-
uated from Aransas Pass High
School and has been employed at
the Naval Air Station in Corpus.
Mr. Meek graduated from Waco
High School and has been em-
ployed at the George Reynolds
Service Company in Houston
receiving his discharge

tin, Friday, February 8 at 8 p. m.
The bride wore a blue wool
suit with black accessories and
a corsage of pink carnations tied
with blue and silver ribbons.

horn gave a talk on “How to
Study Your Lesson.”

grandmother who is quite ill.
He will be joined in Oklahoma
