DICTIONARY QUESTIONS by third graders at Electra Elementary School are fielded by
Randy West of Atmos Energy on Tuesday afternoon. Atmos and Main Street Electra teamed up
to distribute dictionaries to the students. This is an annual event sponsored by Atmos Energy.

Trunk Or Treat
First Baptist Church is
inviting everyone for Trunk
or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 31,
from 6 until 8 p.m.
Many games will be
available along with face
painting and candy.
A concession stand with
hot dogs will be available to
help support this ministry.
Pastor Mike Watts and the
church congregation invite
everyone to come by and have
a good time. "We love doing
trunk or treat and we want you
to be like part of our family.

The scouts manned a booth
and talked about Cub Scout
recruitment to visitors as
they are still looking for
more members in grades one
through five.
Anyone interested in the
program should call Eddie at
940-249-1259 or come to the
Fire Station Monday at 7 p.m.
and witness the knot-tying
challenge.
Nine proposed
amendments to the state
constitution are on the ballot
for the special election
planned Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Local voters will cast
ballots at the First United
Methodist Church from 7 a.m.
to 7 p.m.
Some 41 local residents
had cast ballots in early
voting at the Precinct Four
Tax Office on State Highway
25 last Tuesday. Early voting
continues there through
Friday afternoon at 5 p.m.
First proposition on
the ballot reads "The
constitutional amendment
authorizing the legislature
to provide for an exemption
from ad valorem taxation of
all or part of the market value
of the residence homestead
of the surviving spouse of a
member of the armed services
of the United States who is
killed in action.
The second proposed
amendment reads The
constitutional amendment
eliminating an obsolete
requirement for a State
Medical Education Board and
a State Medical Education
Fund, neither of which is
operational.”
Proposition Number
Three reads The Constitutional
Amendment to authorize a
political subdivision of this
state to extend the number of
days that aircraft parts that
are exempt from ad valorem
taxation due to their location
in this state for a temporary
period may be located in this
state for purposes of qualifying
for the tax exemption.
Proposition Number Four

Amendment authorizing
the legislature to provide
for an exemption from ad
valorem taxation of part
of the market value of the
residence homestead of a
partially disabled veteran
