CAPTAIN WORDEN TO
SERVE AS AVIATOR
WELL KNOW BIRDMAX TENDERS
SERVICES TO THE TEXAS
NAVAL MALITIA.
The Texas naval malitia, recent-
ly created by the State of Texas,
is to enjoy a prestige many other
States do not have, now at least,
in a real genuine, first-class aviator.
The birdman who has volunteered
to serve with the Texas naval ma-
litia is Capt. J. H. Worden, yho
made numerous flights in Dallas
during the Corn Exposition of 1914.
Captain Worden, who has for some
time claimed Dallas as his home,
has written to a personal friend in
this city that he will move his fam-
ily here in July. He is at present
making flights at Asbury Park, N. J,
He is flying a Moissant military
monoplane fitted with genuine im-
ported French Gnome rotary motor,
which he is using in connection with
a spectacular fort-bombarding act
Captain Worden who had an excit-
ing experience in escaping service
in the Republic of Mexico three
years ago, when he was commis-
sioned as a captain of the aviation
corps of Gen. Victoriano Huerta,
writes that almost every available
T aeroplane in the East has been pur-
• chased by a foreign Government and
all factories have contracted for
their entire production for two years.
—Dallas News.
Captain Warden is the aviator who
made two successful flights daily
during the Red River County Fair i«
i Clarksville last September.
Barrie’s E»caj>e.
The revival of "Peter Pan” in j
London recalls an amusing Barrie
story. A well known actor once fell j
ill and his understudy was requisi- !
tioned to play his part. The under- 1
study was immensely elated at the
idea and sent telegrams to all the
leading dramatic critics and to oth-
ers interested in the stage, notify-
ing them of the fact.
Barrie happened to be at his club
one afternoon when some one ask-
him if he had received a telegram
from the gentleman in question.
‘‘Yes,” answered Barrier. “I did.”
“And did you reply to-it?” “Yes,”
said the famous author and play-
wright. ‘‘I wired: “Thanks for the
warning.”
He Had His Reason.
Little Everett was a member of
the Band of Mercy society, and was
proud of the membership. He wore
his badge, a small star, as if it were
a policeman's insignia, and was of-
ten heard reproving other boys and
girls for cruel treatment of dogs and
cats.
1 One morning a woman of the
neighborhood hearing a commotion
! outside was surprised to find Ever-
' ett in act of tor masting the cat
| “Why, Everett,” she called, “what
are you doing to that poor cat? I
thought you belonged to the Band
'of Mercy society?” ': 5 -*
“I did,” replied the little boy
'‘but I lost my star.”
Easy Conscience.
“How ^bout the sanitary condi-
tions at your hotel? Is everything
healthy ?”-asked Jimpson.
“Waal!” said the rural proprie-
tor, ‘nobody ever ketched nothin’ at j
my haouse what hadn’t been |
brought here by some outsider.”— I

Effects Her Deliverance.
Draper, N C.—Mrs. Helen Dalton, ot
this place, says: ”1 suffered for years,
with pains in my left side, and would I
often almost smother to death.
Medicines patched me up for awhile 1
but then 1 would get worse again. Final- |
ly, my husband decided he wanted me to j
try Cardui, the weman’s tonic, so he [
.bought me a bottle and I began using it. |
It did me more good than all the medi-
cines 1 had taken.
^have induced many of my friends f‘o (
try Cardui, and they all sa/ they have
been benefited by its use. There never
has been, and never w ill be, a medicine
to compare with Cardui. 1 believe it is ,
a good medicine for all womanly trou-

For over 50 yeaT Cardui has been re-
lieving woman’s sufferings and building
weak women up to health and strength, j
If yon are a woman, give it a fair trial, j
it should surely help you, as it has a
million others.
