SCHOOL OPENS SOON
It will soon be time for the pupils of Boerne Schools to resume
classes.

OFFICERS
Joe Phillip was named presi-
dent to head the Boerne Turn
Verein at a meeting of the di-
rectors here. Jack Kelly is vice-
president and Clyde Moore, sec-
retary-manager.
Alfred Herbst and Louis Berg
mann were named new directors.
The board of directors now in-
cludes Phillip, Kelly, Herbst,
Bergmann, Walter Esser, Jake
Toepperwein and Carl Chamber-
lain.

quart attended the funeral of
Capt. Richard Spenrath at Com-
fort on Friday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Simon Haag and
daughter visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Schneider at San An-
tonio on Thursday evening.
Friends of Delton Hill will be
interested to know he enlisted
in the U. S. Navy on last Mon-
day. He reported at Houston
and is stationed at San Diego,
California for training.
Miss Joy Krause of Kendalia
spent several days in the Wal-
ter Werner home the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tolleson
and son returned from a visit to
Springdale, Ark. They were ac-
companied there by Mrs. Tolle-
3on’s mother, Mrs. U. Howard,
who had been visiting here.
Melvin Werner attended the
boys’ encampment at Leakey
for a week and reported an en-
joyable time.
Mrs. E. V. Foran with a group
chaperoned the Comfort High
School Band to Garner Park near
Uvalde for an outing of several
days the beginning of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Behr and
family have returned to Flores-
ville after two weeks vacation
with Mr. and Mrs. 0. E. Behr.
Roy Schneider and children of
San Antonio spent last Sunday
with the Simon Haags.
Frederick Tolleson was called
to the officers’ training camp at
Annapolis, Maryland, to com-
plete his Navy career.
Mrs. Lena Marquardt, Messrs,
and Mesdames Louis Habenicht
and 0. J. Marquardt attended
the Golden Wedding celebration
of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Holekamp
at Comfort on Saturday night.
Newt. Arthur, Misses Annie
and Clara Schoenfeld of San
Antonio greeted friends here on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bevery Gold and
children of Comfort spent Sun-
day evening with Mrs. Adolph
Marquardt.
Sisterdale lost their last game
of the season with Enderlin on
Sunday. Score was 22 to 4, but
were fortunate to play a good
game at the Kendall County
Fair at Boerne on Friday with
the Farmer Boys League. Score
was 1 to 0.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Rives are
spending a week’s vacation with
Miss Eda Offer and the E. A.
Offers.
Jack O’Neel of San Antonio
was a Sunday guest of Mr. and
Mrs. Edmund Herbst.
Mr. and Mrs. Simon Haag
were at home on Saturday in
honor of their daughter’s 7th
birthday anniversary. Ice cream
and cake was served and the
youngsters reported a jolly time.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. John-
ny Riegel of San Antonio were
their guests.
