Holly Blackmon’s
mother, Betty Stillwell of
the Dallas area, spent the
weekend with the
Blackmons.
Claude Tyler received
word on Sunday that his
brother, Wesley Tyler, had
passed away earlier that
day. Wesley was bom in
1923 near Blossom and
grew up in the Post Oak
area. He had made his
home in Hurst for many
years and is to be buried
on Wednesday at Laurel
Land Memorial Park in
Ft. Worth.
Mrs. Janis Reynolds’
grandson, Josh Uhl and
family spent two nights
last week visiting her.
They brought Josh’s two
year old niece with them.
It was the first time that
Mrs. Reynolds had gotten
to see her great-
granddaughter.
Mickie Freelen and
daughters Joyce Shelton
and Linda Mitchell, went to
Paris on Wednesday to see
Mickie’s sister, Mutt
Thomas in the nursing
home there.
On Sunday night, the
church here bid Godspeed
to Kevin Hudgens, song
leader, and his wife, Wendi,
as they seek to enter a new
field of service and
ministry.
Newman and Betty Low
have been spending time at
the hospital with their
daughter, Terri Williams,
who has been very
seriously ill with
meningitis. She is doing
much better now, and is to
be coming to their home
this week to continue her
recovery and gain more
strength.

the fire that destroyed Blossom Church of God’s Fellowship Hall and Gym

BLOSSOM CHURCH OF GOD was adding on to their Fellowship Hall and
gym last Thursday. A welder’s spark started a massive fire that destroyed
the complex. Heroic efforts by seventeen fire departments saved the church
building, but the rest is a total loss. Fire departments from as far away as
Cooper, Honey Grove and Grant, Oklahoma helped fight the fire. (Staff Photo
