TxDOT checking
for car seat safety
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) em-
ployees oversee the demolition of about 70-plus old and
outdated child safety car seats. The car seats were col-
lected during regular safety car seat checks during the
past year. When outdated and possibly unsafe seats are
found, the parent or gaurdian is given a new car seat
and taught how to properly install and use the car seats.
Car seat checks this year are scheduled for Texarkana
in June, Linden in July, Marshall in August, Carthage
and Atlanta in September, Daingerfield in October and
Gilmer in November. Appointments can also be made
by calling TxDOT Traffic Safety Specialist Irene Web-
ster in Atlanta at 903-799-1221. Anyone wanting to re-
port a child riding unsecured in a vehicle can call the
“Please Be Seated” hotline at 903-799-1400 and leave
a message with all pertinent information, including the
license plate number, or the can e-mail it to Irene.Web-
ster@txdot.gov or can text it to 512-658-2467,_

It has taken me this long
to be able to do a public
thank you. To everyone
who took the time out
of the day to send food,
flowers and the time for
Doyle's funeral, thank
you.
I was in awe at the
amount of people and flow-
ers and the special items
that were given to me. I
loved Doyle and thought
him special cause I was
his mom but the huge out
pouring of love that was
shown by the communities
just was so unexpected.
Doyle was the type of
person who would help
anyone any time. I had
many discussions with
him cause we would be in
the middle of something
and he would leave home
to help others. Thank
everyone with love for
helping and being there
for the family’s. All the
people who showed up
all the support thank you
so much. There were too
many to name but I thank
everyone from the bottom
of my heart. Doyle's whole
family thanks you. Love
you.
