meeting June 10th
Everyone is invited to at-
tend the regular monthly
meeting of the Red River
County Genealogical Soci-
ety, Monday evening, June
10, at 7 p.m. at the Red
River County Chamber of
Commerce meeting room.
The program for this
month will be presented by
Kaitlin Ammon, site man-
ager of the Sam Bell
Maxey House in Paris. She
will speak on General
Maxey’s role in the Civil
War and about the Maxey
House Historical Site.
All interested persons
are encouraged to come
and enjoy the program.
Grand Old
Gospel Music to
perform Saturday
The Grand Old Gospel
Music singing continues
with this Saturday, June 8th,
musical performers being
Dustin May & Sons, Gaither
Type Gospel groups from
Paris, Bogata, Blossom and
Cunningham and special
performances.
The groups being singing
at 6:00 and from 4:00 p.m.
to 6:00 p.m. the All Star
Rangers ball team will have
the concession stand.
This gospel singing is lo-
cated on main street in De-
port and there is no charge
for admittance.

for field day held last Friday
for the elementary students.
They had to cancel two
other times because of the
inclement weather.
Everyone had a great day.
Head Start held their
program on Friday evening.
School will hold early
release on Wednesday and
Thursday with senior
graduation on Saturday at
4:00 p.m.
The DHS Seniors were
honored on Thursday
evening with a reception
and handing out of
scholarships. They had an
outstanding year this year!
Detroit Arts Fest and Car
Show will be coming up on
Saturday, June 15. Make
plans to attend!
