iViva la Virgen cle Guadalupe!
The diocesan observance of the Feast of Our Lady
of Guadalupe began with a procession from
Sacred Heart Church to Corpus Christi Cathedral
followed by the celebration of Evening Prayer, a
reenactment of the virgin's appearance to Juan
Diego (below) and a reception with Mexican food
^ and entertainment.
Above, Father Ray Yrlas, pastor of
Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in
! Alice, places a statue of Blessed
Juan Diego on a cerrito (little hill)
for the completion of the parish's
special place of prayer in devotion
1 to Our Lady of Guadalupe. The
site was blessed on Dec. 12, the
feast day of the Virgin of
Guadalupe. The statuary is from
; Jalisco, Mexico, and is made of
cantera stone. The project was an

Touching a power line anytime-with
anything-can be deadly.
No matter where you are, what you're doing or
what equipment you're using.
And thinking about something else won't

thing on your mind.
So think about the danger Because we hate to
