KENDALIA HOST AT
COUNTY GRANGE
MEETING
An enthusiastic cross section
of Kendall County’s rural folk
were gathered at the Kendalia
school Monday night, Oct. 25,
when Kendalia Grange was
host to the Kendall County
(Pamona) Grange.
New officers elected for 1949
were then duly installed by
Bro. Hugo Vogt of San Anto-
nio, who is a special State
Grange Deputy, and who is
very adept at conducting these
particular ceremonies.
Officers elected and installed
were as follows: Harry Grosser
Master; Benno Frobese, over-i
seer; Sister Dora Wollschlae-
ger, lecturer; Herbert Voges,
steward; Ralph Kneupper, As-
sistant Steward; Sister L. H.
Wilke, chaplain; Robt. Wieden-
feld, treasurer; Eagon Wieden-
feld, secretary; B. H. Wade,
gatekeeper! Sister Mildred Fox>
Ceres; Sister Winnie Rust, Pa-
mona; Sister R. G. Holekampi
Flora; Sister F. H. Heidrich;
lady assistant steward; C. C.
Newton and Oscar Voges as
committeemen for three years
and one year respectively.
Other visitors introduced by)
Sister Olga Leesch, a National
Grange officer, were: Sister C.
R. Cento of Von Ormy, who is
lecturer of the Texas State
Grange and Sister G. G. Lewis,
who is from San Antonio and
is the State Grange secretary;
Bro. C. R. Cento, newly elect-
ed Bexar Co. Pamona Master
and Sister Fisher of Medina
Valley Grange, who has been
elected secretary of the Bexar
Co. Pamona, were then intro-
duced; and Sister H. G. Vogt
was also recognized.
Bro. R. G. Holekamp of the
Comfort Chapter gave a detail-
ed account of the operations
and services of the Comfort
Chapter gave a detailed ac-
count of the operations and
services of the oCmfort Seed
Growers and the fine publicity
their experimental seed plots
have received all over the
State.
Bro. Arthur Blaschke an-
nounced that a large maintain-
er is available at very low cost
to those participants of the
Soil Conservation District who
had fulfilled the proper ^ appli-
cation specifications on time.
Bro. Cento extended an invi-
tation to members of the Ken-
dall County Grange to visit the
Beaxr County Grange meeting
at Cibolo on the 2nd. Monday
in January.
An invitation to the Kendall
Co. Grange to meet at Comfort
for the regular 1st quarterly
meeting next year was tenta-
tively accepted; however, meet-
ing dates may be swapped a-
mong Granges in order to en-
able a different Grange to be
host in election quarters each
year and for reasons of other
conveniences.
The Kendalia Grange ladies
served delicious ham sandwich-
es, cake, cookies, punch and
coffee in the very nice school
cafeteria, which was beautiful-
ly decorated with Hallowe’en
motifs.
