by Prof. A. J, Robertson and

gentlemen’s voiooh. They played’
and sang with zest,
melody many such

at Morgan Mill.
—The examinations at the Bluff
Dale sohool have been conducted
all this week and will close Fri-
day (tomorrow) with addresses
by the county judge and other
invited speakers
—Dr. J. B. Gordon of Paluxy
was here Monday looking in the
best of health. He reports his
practice good. The doctor will
henceforth read the Empire and
henoe grow wiser and happier.
—J. B. Adams, a suocessfu
farmer and stock raiser of Pizar-
ro, oailed Tuesday and gave a
good account of his community.
But he could not tell why they
named that post office Pizarro.
—Miss Self, the eighteen year
old daughter of Farmer Self,
who occupies the Sol Frank farm
west of town died Monday at
5 p. m and was buried in West
End cemetery Tuesday after-
noon.
—The singing oonventon at
Linglevilie last Sunday was a
great success. Singers were there
from all parts of the oounty.
Neighbor Stell says there was
dinner in the air and musio on
the ground.
—Presiding Elder G. C. Rals-
ton, of the colored Methodist
ohuroh will next 8unday after-
noon at 3 p. m. preach the fun-
eral of the deceased wife of Rev.
Coker at their ohuroh house in
Stephenville.
—The sitting grand jury re-
port that they have found very
few violations of the law to run
down. Erath is to be congratu-
lated upon the faot that the jus-
