In the death of J. M. Purves
of Purves Sunday a week ago
Erath lost a good oitizen and his
community a good neighbor. He

side in this oounty. The deoeased
was a brother of Capt. W. W.
Purves for whom the town of
Purves was named.
F’armer C. L. MoElhaney
last week gave all his neighbors
a dinner. They were there in

were relieved with zest. Mrs.
Walton A. Hyatt was the only
attendant from Stephenville and
she reports that after dining the
men sat around, chewed and
smoked tobaooo and told aneo-
dotes. while the women folks just
ohewed wax and talked about
our neighbors and their children.
A fishing party consisting of
Arthur Parnell, Ed Shelton, John
Williamson, James Crane and
Will Riohardson left here

tend to bo gone two months but
Ben Bassell figures out that they
will return as soon as their teams
oan bring them. He has been
out on those arid plains, amid
the rooky, barren hills, and has
sought in vain, not only for fish,
but even for water, in the bed of
Devil’s river, and he knows
some things the boys may learn.

This is only a hint. Thia town

be a hint to the merchante and
people generally of Dublin. Let
us all unite in giving our mill the
support it deserves. Its pro-
ducts are satisfactory and ad-
mitted to be equal to any of the
