5 What I claim, is:
In a railway gate structure, the combina-.
tion. of: an elongated base, a pair of posts
having their lower ends secured to. the sides
of the base, a gate normally overhanging the
io base and having one end pivotally mounted
between the upper end of the posts, a.de-
pressible lever disposed along one side of the
base and having its swinging end project-
ing past the posts, a depressible tripping
rail disposed over and resting on the lever
adjacent the pivot point .of the latter, a ver-
tical link pivoted at its lower end to the
swinging end of the lever and having its up-
per end pivoted to the gate above the pivot
point of the latter, an upright mounted on 20
the base and inclined toward the pivoted end
of the gate, a pair of braces extending from
the. base to the upright and between which
the pivoted end of the gate projects, and a
spring pressed plunger mounted on the up- 25
right and inclined toward the gate, said
gate having a seat positioned to receive the
free end of the plunger when the gate is
swung upward by the lever and link.
