While we have shown only one form of
this device it.is apparent that the mechani-
cal structure thereof may be varied.without
departing from the principle of the inven-
10 tion and we hereby reserve the right to make
such modifications in the structure thereof
as will not depart from the scope of the
appended claims..
What we claim is;
15 L A device of the character described in-
cluding a casing, means carried thereby
whereon a ribbon reel may be mounted, a
winding device carried by the casing, said
device embodying a spindle and a means for
20 rotating the same, said spindle being adapt-
ed to receive and rotate a spool whereon the
ribbon from said reel is wound, said wind-
ing device being adjustable relative to the
casing so as to be brought into alinement
25 with the said reel.
2. A device of the character described in-
cluding a casing, means in said casing for
rotatably mounting a ribbon reel and a
winding device in connection with the cas-
30 ing, said device embodying a rotatable spool
support and means for rotating said sup-
port, said winding device being adjustable
relative to the said reel.
3. A device of the character described in-
35 cluding a casing, means in said casing where-
on is mounted a ribbon reel, a winding de-
vice adjustable relative to the casing and
ribbon reel, said device embodying a rota-
table spool support and a means for rotating
40 the same, said support being provided to re-
ceive and rotate a spool whereon the ribbon
from said reel is wound.
4. A device of the character described in-
cluding a casing; means in said casing
45 whereon a ribbon reel may be mounted; a
winding device adjustable relative to the
casing, said device embodying a rotatable
spindle and means for rotating the same;
said spindle being provided to receive and
50 rotate a spool whereon is wound ribbon from
said reel and a means for locking the wind-
ing device against adjustment relative to the
casing.
56 5. A device of the character described in-
cluding a casing, a winding device in con-
nection therewith, said casing and winding
device being adjustable relative to each
other, a ribbon reel support in said casing,
60 a rotatable spool support operatively con-
nected with said winding device, said spool
support being adapted to receive and ro-
tate a spool whereon is wound ribbon de-
livered from said reel.
6. A device of the character described in-
cluding a casing, a winding device in connec-tion therewith, a plurality of transverse reel
supports in the casing between which reels
of ribbon may be mounted, a rotatable spool
support operatively connected with the wind-
ing device and provided to receive and ro- 70
tate a spool whereon may be wound ribbon
delivered from said reel, said winding de-
vice being adjustable relative to the casing,
whereby it may be brought successively into
alinement with said ribbon reels. 75
7. A device of the character described in-
cluding a casing, a plurality of reel sup-
ports therein between which reels of ribbon
may be mounted, a covering for the casing;
said covering being provided with slots oppo- 80
site the reels through which the ribbon-may
pass from said reels, a winding device mount-
ed on the casings and adjustable back and
forth relative thereto whereby it may be
brought into alinement with the ribbon reels 85
successively, a rotatable spool support oper-
atively connected with the winding device
and adapted to' receive and rotate a spool
whereby said ribbon is wound on said spool.
8. A device of the character described in- 90
eluding a casing, a plurality of reel sup-
ports therein between which reels of ribbon
may be mounted, a covering for the casing,
said covering being provided with slots op-
posite the reels through which the ribbon 95
may pass from said reels, a winding device
mounted on the casing and adjustable back
and forth relative thereto, a rotatable spool
support operatively connected . with the
winding device and provided to receive and 100
rotate a spool whereby said ribbon is wound
on said spool and a guide carried by the
winding device and movable therewith over
which said ribbon passes from its reel to
said spool. 105
9. A device of the character described in-
cluding a casing, a plurality of reel sup-
ports therein, ribbon reels mounted in said
supports, said reels, when mounted, being
in alinement, a winding device mounted on 11
the casing and adjustable back and forth
relative thereto so as to be brought succes-
sively into alinement 'with said reels, a ro-
tatable spool support operatively connected 115
with the winding device and provided. to
receive and rotate a spool, whereby said rib-
bon is wound on said spool and a guide car-
ried by the winding device and movable
therewith, over which said ribbon passes 120
from the reel to said spool.
10. A device of the character described in-
cluding a casing, a plurality of reel sup-
ports therein, ribbon reels mounted in said
supports, the supports being arranged so 125
as to bring said reels, when mounted, into
alinement, a covering for the casing, said
covering being provided with slots opposite
the ribbon reels, through which the ribbon
may pass from said reels, a winding device 130
mounted on the casing and adjustable back.a
