Mike Little, Liberty County
District Attorney, speaking to
Cleveland's Rotary Club on
Wednesday, January 31, an-
nounced that the popular and
informative Citizen Police
Academy will be conducted in
Cleveland this year. The
twelve-week curriculum will
begin Tuesday, February 27,
2001 at 6:00 pm at Moon's
Garden Chinese Restaurant,
700 East Houston, in Cleve-
land. The CPA consists of
twelve weeks of instruction
(one night per week) for twelve
consecutive weeks. Little, who
also functions as Academy Di-
rector, explained that the CPA
was created in order to provide
enough information to the citi-
zens who attend to increase
police/community rapport
through the educational pro-
cess, as well as to dispel suspi-
cions and any misconceptions
the public might have about the
law enforcement community.
See page 6A for details on the
Academy, the curriculum, and
how to apply for Academy par-
ticipation.
