The members of the Boerne
Reading Club were entertained
at the home of Mrs. Alice Mas-
sey on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs.
J. D. Johns gave an interesting
paper on “Bells”. She was as-
sisted by Mrs. H. V. Steele who
spplemented her talk by the
poems on bells of Edgar Allen
Poe and Tennyson. Sixteen
members and Mrs. Z. W. Bliss
as guest enjoyed this delightful
meeting.

Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Vogt en-
tertained a number of friends
in the playroom of their home
in Evergreen Addition. Dancing
was enjoyed and at an appro-
priate hour refreshments were
served to approximately fifty
guests.
R. A. Dixon left Saturday for
Houston to visit his father who
is quite ill.
The children of Mrs. Joe
Saunders entertained at dinner
on Tuesday night in observance
of her birthday anniversary.
The dinner guests were sisters
and brothers of the honoree and
places were marked for Mes-
dames Emma Esser, Helena Es-
ser, Auguste Corley, Alvine
Schneider and Minnie Weidner
and Messrs Otto and Henry
Sphuetz. Later in the evening a
number of friends and relatives
called to offer felicitations and
many happy returns of the day.
Coffee, cake and sandwiches
were served buffet style during
the evening. Out of town guests
were Mesdames Pink Corley,
Herman and Harvey Kmderva-
tcr, Wade Lewis and Mr. and
Mrs. Chas. Saunders, all of San
