allegedly ran the stop sign and
crossed into the Wal-Mart parking
lot.
Harrison said he advised that he
slammed on his brakes and skidded
sideways into the curb to keep from
hitting the car. He also said he
ended up facing north with the two
front wheels against the curb.
The driver of the other vehicle,
a 1989 Mercury Topaz, was Leticia
Perez, 36, of P.O: Box 61, and she
said she was travelling north on 21st
and slopped at the stop sign, and
then crossed into the Wal-Mart
parking lot She said she never saw
the pickup and denied any
participation in the accident.
Since there was no reported
damage to either vehicle, no
accident report was taken. However,
about an hour later, Harrisoncalled
back to police and advised the front
end of his pickup was damaged
when it hit the curb. He said he got
about five miles out of Seminole
when the vehicle began vibrating
and the vehicle had to be towed.
Since there was then reported
damage to one of the vehicles, a
report was made.
The police report stated that
several attempts to contact Harrison
for his insurance information and to
verify the extent of damage were
made and that he never returned the
messages.
When Perez was contacted, police
said she refused to give any insurance
information.
