candlelabrum 'entered the
altar and tree candlelabra with
seven tapers were on either
side
"Color My World", "If Ever
I Would la-ave You” and "The
Lord's Prayer" were sung by
Mrs Shirley Roach and the
Calvary Baptist Youth Quartet
('(insisting of Jane Hongen-
doorn, Jody Skipworth, Wes
Strickland and David Wallace
Parents of the couple are Mr
and Mrs Ernest E. Howe of
Corpus Christi and Mr. and
Mrs Ralph H. Matern, for-
merly of Portland now living in
Three Rivers
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a full-
length gown of organza and
allencon lace fashioned with a
high neckline, full sleeves v.ith
tapered cuffs re-embroidered
with lace and seed pearls Her
veil of illusion, bordered with
cljantilly lace, was held by a
headpice of lace petals edged
with tiny seed pearls
She carried a bridal bouquet
of red and white roses
sprinkled with baby’s breath
tied with red and white velvet
ribbons
Miss Edith Marie Howe
served her sister as maid of
honor Matron of honor was
Mrs Don E Carey, sister of
tfic groom, and M’-s David
Pawlik was bridesmaid
The attendants wore fuU-
length princess style gowns
made of ruby red velvet with
bodice of antique white lace
The collar and long sleeves
were also trimmed with an-
tique lace They each carried
white fur muffs and a long-
stemmed red rose Their
headpieces were Juliet caps of
red velvet trimmed with white
daisies and a Ted tulle veil.
Wesley Van Cleave, brother
in law of the groom, was best
rfian. Terry C. Richardson and
Richard Garcia Jr were the
groomsmen They wore black
tang tailed tuxedos with red
and black velvet bow ties
Danny Eugene Howe,
brother of the bride, David
Pawlik; Jimmy Rowland
Peerman; and Ronnie Van
Cleave, nephew of the groom,
served as ushers
A reception was held in the
fellowship hall at the church
The bride's table was laid with
white lace clothe and held a
tour-tier wedding cake
decorated with red roses and
heart shaped button tiers
silver punch service was used
The groom's table featured a
German chocolate cake and
gold coffee service.
For her traveling attire, the
hride chose a dark green

XI Mu Gamma, local chapter
of Beta Sigma Phi, will spon-
sor its annual Sweetheart Ball
Feb. 9, at the Community Cen-
ter.
At the dance, Xi Mu Gamma
will proudly present its Chapter
Sweetheart for the year, Mrs.
Peggy Martin.
Loften Kline will provide the
music for the dance which will
last from 8 p.m, to 12 midnight.
Admission price of $10 per
couple will Include set ups and
snacks.
Ticket chairmen will be an-
nounced at a later date and event
will be open to the public.
