Marvin Floyd Flaming
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Flaming
are the proud parents of a seven-
pound baby boy, born Saturday
morning, August 24. The baby was
named Marvin Floyd. Both mother
and child are doing fine.
Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Jones spent
several days in Corpus Chrlstl this
week. Mr. Jones, who has been vis-
iting here for a week, returned to
his business in Kilgore.
Mr. and Mrs. Neai Ahlman and
sons left Wednesday on a ten day
vacation through West Texas.

urday at home.

Heart Attack Victim
Encamacion A. Salinas, 55. well
known Falfurrias resident, suc-
cumbed to a heart attack in Har-
lingen, Sunday, August 18. Funeral
services were held here Monday,
August 19, and burial took place
In the local cemetery.
Surviving are hls widow. Mrs.
Maria V. de Salinas, hls daughter,
Elia S Villarreal, wife of Delfino
Villarreal, and five sons, No4. Juv-
entlno, Ren£ and RuMn, of Fal-
furrias, and Rodolfo, of San An-
tonio.
Salinas was born in Starr coun-
ty. where hls father was county
clerk for 26 years, but for many
years he had made Falfurrias hls
home.

Texas plants boomed during June.

per cent higher than in June. 17.3

ago. The total state-wide produc-
tion was estimated by the bureau

The bureau estimates cheese
production for July at 2,190.000
pounds on the basis of reports
from 21 firms, which turned out
1 9.5 per cent more cheese than in

Ice cream production for the
whole state was pegged at 1.863,000
gallons —9 per cent more than in
