with a "countrypolitan" for

Mrs L D. (Josie) Campbell.
82. died at 8pm in a Corpus
Christ! hospital after a long
illness.
She was bom in Pulaski.
Tennessee, and came to
Portland in 1915 with her
husband They moved to the
farm west of Portland in 1916
Mr Campbell died in 1953.
Mrs Campbell was a member
of the First Baptist Church and
a charter member of the
knitting club
Services will he held at 2
p m Thursday. September 23,
at the Pieper Funeral Home
Chapel Burial will lie in the
Taft Cemetery with Pieper
Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements
Survivors are four
daughters. Mrs. George R.
Miresof Taft. Mrs W R Neely

From Vacation
Mr and Mrs Boyd Griffin of
619 Elm Street have returned
from nine day visit in South
Carolina with their daughter
and son-in-law. LI and Mrs.
David M Wells at Buford. Lt
Wells in the U S. Marines Mrs
Griffis said they toured the Old
Plantation Middleton Garden
while in South Carolina and
New Orleans before returning
home
of Gregory. Mrs Rena White
and Mrs D. L. Woodson of
Corpus Chnsti; one son. Dr
Luther Campbell of Portland;
one sister. Mrs Jennie Tribble
of Dallas; two brothers, J. B
Tenery of Gladewater, George-

grandchildren, and II great-
grandchildren.

requests contributions be sent
to the Memorial Fund of the
First Baptist Church.
