If you’re Interested in news
emanating from the capitals of
the world you’ve heard about the
have and have not nations—
those who think their place In
the sun la clouded by some richer
or more powerful neighbor.
Bringing the same thought clos-
er t< home, you'll find this per-
son or that person enviously
comparing his lot with that of
an acquaintance. While we don’t
profess to be philosophically In-
clined, the following few lines
.-■Mind like gc ? advice, and, un-
less we arc r staken, they are
incorporated in r~vy manuals:
"If you can t hr i nine < n the
top of ' hill
E • a scrub in the valley—but
The best little scrub by the side
of the hill:
Be a bush if you can’t be a
tree.”
"If you can’t be a bush be a bit
of the grass
And some highway some hap-
pier make
If you can’t be a muskie then be
just a bass—
But the liveliest little bass In
the lake."
"We can’t all be Captains, we’ve
got to he crew.
There’s something for all of us
here.
There’s big work to do and
there’s lesser to d",
And the task we must do is the
near.”
"If you can’t be a highway then
just be a trail.
If you can’t be the sun be a
star;
It isn’t by size that you win or
you fail—
Be the best of whatever you
are.”
—Poem by Douglas Mallock.

that OLLIE NORRIS, supported

Bird Law Change
A bill by Congressman Richard
M. Kleberg to amend the Migra-
tory Bird Conservation Act of 1929
has been reported on favorably by
a sub-committee of the House of
Representatives committee on A-
grlculture, following an appear-
ance of the congressman before
the group.
The bill would provide for the
seizure and forfeiture of convey-
ances, guns, traps, nets and simi-
lar implements and paraphernalia
when found in use in unlawful in-
vasions of the wildlife sanctuaries
and refuges established and main-
tained under the act of February
18, 1929, known as the Migratory
Bird Conservation Act. The bill
would strengthen efforts of the
Bureau of Biological Survey t<> per-
petuate and to increase game ani-

tablished by law. No articles under
the bill would be forfeited until
the claimant had full hearng in
