BENEFIT BASE BALL GAME
On Sunday, Sept. 9th., there
will be a benefit base ball game
at Bower Field, between the
Ex-Boerne White Sox and the
present Boerne White Sox. This
should be an interesting game
to watch as you will see some
ex-stars in action. There will be
many thrills and spills, and a
doctor and ambulance will be on
hand to take care of any casual-
ties that might arise.
Right after the ball game, a
tamale and chili supper will be
served on the grounds.
Make plans now to attend this
benefit game and watch the ex-
stars in action.

CHAMPIONS OF 1962
Camp Stanley won the cham-
pionship Sunday defeating Pats
in the final game by the score
of 20 to 2. David Coryell pitched
and went the full route giving
up 3 hits and 1 being a home
run and the other was an un-
earned run. He walked 3 men
and struck out six men making
David the winner of all 4 play-
off games. Stanley got 21 hits
off of Pats 4 pitchers and 5 of
these hits were home runs. R.
Minor, Jr. hit back to back home
runs the first time with 2 men
on base and the second with the
the bases loaded and got another
single to drive in two more runs
making a total of nine runs bat-
ted in. C. Taylor, E. Gray and
J. Pechacek each had home runs.
Leading hitters were E. Gray, 4
for 5 and C. Taylor 2 for 3, H.
Duennenberg had 2 for 4, Bluet-
te and Jimmie each had 4 for 6.
Stanley made some outstanding
plays afield. C. Taylor and E.
Gray made some great plays at
3rd base and short stop, robbing
Pats of sure base hits. Every-
one of the Stanley kids really
hustled making fine plays at
this writing as manager, I per-
sonally take my hat off to these
kids for the way they were
treated throughout the 1962
season by the Hill Country
League, as a whole the league
taking 3 games away from them
and two eligible ball players and
furthermore Stanley had won
these 3 games fair and square,
and I am sure there is no doubt
in any team in this League who
the 1962 Hill Country Cham-
pions are now and I do from the
bottom of my heart as well as
all the kids on the Stanley Club
wish to thank all the fans who
were so faithful all year, who
stuck by us when everything
was against us all year and I
might say you fans are what
made the Stanley kids the cham-
pions this year of 1962.
The Stanley Ball Club wish to
thank Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Tay-
for for the fine barbecue supper
they gave the ball club after
