Denmark In Stunning 6-1 Win
Sunday's World Cup Soccer
action saw Belgium defeat Iraq
and West Germany overcome
Scotland in a tough game.
The Belgium team defeated Iraq
by the score of 2 to 1. Now
Belgium has to play against
Paraguay and Iraq against
Mexico. Most likely Mexico will
win the game.
The German team had a hard
time to defeat Scotland to keep
their hopes alive. Scotland scored
the first goal and was playing
very good, but the experience of
the German team worked to
outplay the opponents. Germany
was able to score and tied the
game.
Later the Germans played a
more organized game and were
able to score the second goal and
from then on until the end they
kept control of the ball.
The best game of Mexico 86
was between Denmark and
Uruguay.
Denmark played a fast and well
coordinated game and they were
able to score 6 goals. The first
half finished with the score of 2
to 1. Both teams played well and
nobody expected it to end the
way it did.
In the second half one the
Uruguayan players was expelled
for dangerous play. From then on
with the advantage of one man
the Denmark team was much
superior and all of the second half
was controlled by Denmark.
The best player of Denmark
was number 10 Elkjaer, who
scored three goals against
Uruguay. In the previous game
he had scored one goal. Now
Elkjaer is the lesding scorer with
four goals and probably by the
end of the tournament Elkjaer will
have a dozen goal.
In the previous World Cups,
Argentina 78, Kempes had 6
goals and in Spain 82 Rossi also
had 6 goals. The next game of
Denmark will be against
Germany and it will be on
Friday, June 13.
Todays games are as follow:
France VS Hungary; Canada VS
Russia; and Italy VS Korea.
