SECTION 1. Fire Prevent
tion Code Adopted
a. The Standard Fire
Prevention Code 1982
Edition is hereinafter
adopted as the Fire
Prevention Code of the
City of Pharr, Texas,
and shall be known as
the City of Pharr Fire
Prevention Code.
b. Any aiid all amen-
dments stated hereafter
shall be an integral part
of the City of Pharr Fire
Prevention Code,
hereafter stated.
SECTION 2.
Requirements not
Covered by Code.
An requirement
necessary for fire
prevention, fire sup-
pression or fire detec-
tion of any existing or
proposed building or
structure, or for the
safety or health of the
occupants thereof, not
specifically covered by
this code, shall be
determined by the Fire
Marshall subject to- ap-
peal to the Board of Ad-
justment.
SECTION 3. Plan
Examination
Any and all plans for
proposed subdivisions
or developments shall be
reviewed by the Fire
Marshall prior to accep-
tance. Such plans adn
and specifications shall
be checked by the Fire
Marshall for compliance
with the City of Pharr
- Fire Prevention Code
and adopting ordinance
prior to acceptance.
SECTION 4. Standard
Fire Prevention Code
Amendments
a. Section 18.205 shall
be amended to add the
following paragraph:
Trailer Camps shall in-
clude trailer parks as
well as any overnight or
long term trailer park or
camp facility.
b. Section 20.1013 shall
be amended to read as
follows: Tank vehicles
containing flammable or
combustible liquids shall
not be permitted to park
within the City limits for
reasons other than
delivery or resupplying
of cargo.
SECTION 5. Penalty For
Violation
Any person who shal
violate this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and
punished by a fine not
exceeding Two Hundred
Dollars ($200). Each day
that such violation con-
tinues shall constitute a
separate offense.
SECTION 6. Validity
All ordinances or parts
of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby
repealed. The validity of
any section, clause, sen-
tence or provision of this
ordinance shall not af-
fect the validity of any
other part of this or-
dinance, which can be
given effect without in-
validated part or parts.
SECTION 7. Publication
and Emergency
The need of bringing
the Fire Code of the City
of Pharr up to date
creates an emergency
and the requirement of
reading on three
separate meetings is
hereby dispensed with ,
and this ordinance shall
be in full force and ef-
fect after passage and
publication as required
by the Charter.
PASSED, APPROVED
AND MADE EFFECTIVE
on this the 15th day of
June, 1982, A.D. by the
Board of Commissioners
