Crosbyton Lions Club to honor special guest
Veteran, WIRam Troy Edwards on Nov. 2nd
The Crosbyton Lions
Club would like to invite
special guests at noon on
Wednesday, November 2nd
at the Pioneer Memorial Mu-
seum to help welcome Wil-
liam Troy Edwards, a recent
participant in the Texas Pan-
handle Honor Flight. Billy
Troy is the son of former
Crosbyton residents, Troy
B (Skinny) and Nettie Ed-
wards. He served with the
5th Air Force Communica-
tions Unit sight scanning
for Meigs Airplanes from
North Korea. He shipped out
in 1953 and served in Pigon
Tek Oson until 1957.
Billy Troy has many in-
teresting stories to share,
along with details of his trip
to Washington D. C. The Li-
ons Club would like to have ons Club on November 2nd

Lorenzo Lions Club makes donation to Lorenzo Elementary
On Monday, October 24th, the Lions Club made a generous donations of several winter jackets
to the Lorenzo Elementary School. We are extremely grateful for the continuous support of

Crosbyton to bold “Christmas
in the Barn” on December 8th
in the planning stage!
The Crosbyton Chamber
will once again host its an-
nual Chili Cook-Off and at-
tendees will be able to have
a bowl of the chili entries,
complete with cornbread, all
for $5! Pull out those pots
and famous chili recipes be-
cause Christmas cash is just
around the corner for the
winners! First place will re-
ceive $100, second $50, and
third $25. Of course there
will be hot chocolate and

COMING TO TOWN!!!
Mark your calendar for
Thursday, December 8th
from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Christ-
mas in the Barn will take
place at the newly renamed
Georgia Mae and Stanley
Ericson Pioneer Farm and
Ranch Museum, and prom-
ises an evening full of fun
for the entire family, includ-
ing Santa, country sleigh
ride, food, shopping, art and
entertainment all under one
roof!
Santa arrives at 6:00 pm
at Christmas in the Barn,
ready to hear Christmas re-
quests and pose for pictures
with all the good boys and
girls! A free country “sleigh
ride” will be available, as
Clay Deady has promised to
bring his team of horses and
wagon.
The Crosbyton Chief-
tain Middle School and High
School bands have agreed
to have their annual Christ-
mas band concert at the barn
and will be playing favorite
Christmas music! Additional
musical entertainment is also
Georgia Mae and Stanley Ericson Committee votes
to support the Pioneer Farm and Ranch Museum
The Georgia Mae and
Stanley Ericson Committee
recently met and voted to
begin financially supporting
the Pioneer Farm and Ranch
Museum on a monthly basis.
This financial support will
provide much-needed funds
to allow the museum to grow
and flourish, showcasing the
history of the farming and
ranching industry. Plans con-
tinue for the building to be
available for events. Mem-
bers of the committee agreed
that Georgia Mae would
have been proud to use part
of her foundation funds to
support the Pioneer Farm
and Ranch Museum.

The Crosby County Rio Blanco SWCD board along with Rex Isom recognized and congratulated Cassidy Jo Lane

Along with the financial
support, the museum has
agreed to change the name
to Georgia Mae and Stanley
Ericson Pioneer Farm and
Ranch Museum in order to
honor the contribution of the
Ericson family. The com-
mittee plans to commission
a sign with the new name
in the near future. The Eric-
son committee also annually
gives two $1000 scholarships
to Crosby County students.
Early Voting is still Undarway
until Friday, November 4th
Early Voting is now un-
derway abd will run thru Fri-
day, November 4th.
Early Voting can be done
at the Crosby County Court-
house in Crosbyton between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. to
12:00 Noon and 1:00 p.m.
to 5:00 p.m. The Courthouse
is closed during lunch. You
must be a registered voter
and bring some form of ID
to vote.
The General Election is
set for Tuesday, November
8, 2016. This is an important
election year as we will be
voting for a President. Please
use your right and privilege
to vote!
