ceived 162-46.42% votes.
Over all voting in the

Perry as the new State Sena-
tor.
State Representative

following statement about
his Special Election victory:
I am honored that the
citizens of Senate District

Chancellor Robert Duncan’s
vacated senate seat. From
day one to Election Day, our
work ethic never subsided
and our grassroots army truly
turned out the vote.
Throughout this cam-

visit as many constituents as
possible from all 51 counties
in the district. I look forward
to providing common sense,
conservative leadership to
the entire district - communi-

PUBLIC NOTICE
Brief Explanatory Statements of Proposed
Constitutional Amendments
Special Election November 4, 2014
Proposition Number 1
(SJR 1)
SJR 1 would authorize the trans-
fer of certain money from the
general revenue fund to the state
highway fund and the economic
stabilization fund. Money trans-
ferred to the state highway fund
may be used solely for the con-
struction, maintenance and acqui-
sition of rights-of-way for public
roadways.
The proposed amendment will
appeal' on the ballot as follows:
“The constitutional amendment
providing for the use and dedica-
tion of certain money transferred
to the state highway fund to assist
in the completion of transporta-
tion construction, maintenance,
and rehabilitation projects, not to
include toll roads.”

fort and I am very thankful
for all of the volunteers that
made phone calls, walked
blocks, put up signs and
handed out literature to their
local clubs. I had the best
team in the state and I will
always owe them a debt of
gratitude for their enthusi-
asm and work ethic over the
course of this campaign.
I would like to thank
Governor Rick Perry for go-
ing ahead and calling this
election early and allowing
West Texas to gain much
needed seniority and get
back to work.
Of course I couldn’t
have done this without the
loving support of my won-
derful wife Jacklyn and chil-
dren, Jordan and Matthew. I
appreciate their patience and
moral support throughout
this campaign.
For the next few months,
I will turn my focus towards
ensuring a Republican sweep
in November and securing
both a super-majority in the
Senate and House.
