OR some years

lived In this city
a good and hon-
est man with hit
wife who if
probably 28 or 30
years old The
husbands bust
ness called him
out all night
Some time ago
Jt he went to one
cl his employers
and told him he
had 400 ln gold
he wanted kept
lor him The gentleman advised that
the money be deposited In the Merchants
National Bank which was done and this
transaction led to the discovery that the
wife was false Several days
ago a message was lecelved from a neigh-
boring city by the wile to tbe effect that
ber ti3ler was sick and wanted her to
come and see hr The bustand consented
t > the visit and gave his wife the money
to mike the j mrney Sle left and tintll
yesterday the husband supposed she was
with her sister The husband has been
s ck for several days and was very much
surprised yesterdey when one ol his em
pioyers came to the 1 ouse and lnloimed
olm that the rertiUcnte ol deposit bad been
sent Irom Sin Antonio lor collection
The husband at orce snspic oned how
things were and getting up went to
trunk in which ho had kept some 150
and valuable papers The money ww
gone and the certificate ol deposit aso
Then the whole truth came out when it
was lound that Frank C Porter a hunch-
backed barber who has been working at
the Ellis house barber shop bad gone
and the w < man was with him Porter
had been lodging at the house and had
won the wt m n away Irom her husband
He it was who sent the lying telegram in
regard to the sisters illness and he it
was who wanted to share tho husbands
bardearned money The woman has
written to her husband begging that
Dear Frank be spared the jail or she
wlil be heart broken and pine away The
husband is done with the woman but
the law has begun to move to catch the
barber
WESTON BROTBERS
ESTON Broth
e r s Musics
Comedy Cob
pany attracted
a very small
audience a t
the opera
houie last
nigat but this seams to have been caused
by their being unknown uere this being
their first tour througa Texts
The play Is not a particularly strong
one nor Is It intended to be such but is
constructed so as to display the wonder-
ful musical talents ot the two brothers
With a few exceptions the characters
were very well rustalned and the play
contains more plot than the usual ran ol
such performances
The Westons were originally with the
Thacher Primrose and West minstrels
where they won their fame as burnt
cotk artists in which role Mr
Sam Weston pltyed very cleverly
in last nights petiormance He is
certainly master of the banjo Mr
Morris Weston as the Italian street fid-
dler and his solo on the saxaphone were
excellent Mr T Marney has a very
good baritone voice and was heartily
aoplaudedinhis nautical scng
As the whole play centers In the music
toe combination would be stronger by the
ineertion ol a great number ol Instru-
mental pieces
The Westons are good musicians and
are well worth hearing Their character
work is also good and Is In contrast with
many ol the attempts that preceded them
this stason
At todays matinee they again present
The Way ol tha World and tonlgat
The Two Bohemians which la also a
musical comedy
