just a little rain, the 1925 crop may

risk for spring rains. This contention
is bused on the fact that most lands
are in excellent shape for such a light
rain, absorbing and retaining the mois
ture. The threatening weather of
this present week, bears out his opti-
mism. with the oustanding conviction
that South Texas needn't be worried
about a 1925 crop.
tury club of this town started out to

Public utilities, ordinarily, must j

censure and even condemnation, and
that whether the public be right or
the public utility be right. And it is
also usual »hat public utilities work
away often under the most of trying
of circumstances, and deliver the
goods as best possible under adverse
circumstances. In a way, that is true
of the Kingsville gas company. Last I

This improvement is being made that
more room may be added to the above
considered entirely too merciful by
the judge. He preferred to see them
suffer through years of remorse, of
hard prison labor and diet, of isola-
tion and lonely nights in a dark cell
when tin* mind is busily at work in
its ever increasing practice of tor-
ment. The judge would see them
broken, robbed of every right, and
last up. finally, at the gates of hell to
start anew and forever the price pay-
ing. And the judge is right. When
youth sets about to deliberately com-
mit such a crime, then youth is res-
ponsible. The reading world is now
familiar with the story. It is too sor-
did and harrowing to repeat. In mak-
ing the supreme sacrifice for her sis-
ter’s sake Ruth Gregerson is some-
thing a little more than human; site
is almost divine. Her sacrifice makes
the crime committed by the boys still
more deserving of the law’s limit.
The crime wave hasn’t abated much
in the country, belief to the contrary.
No daily paper is now published but
that carries from two to ten murders,
suicides, divorces, hold-ups, thefts,
etc., etc., on the front page. It has be-
come an obsession to devour this
nauseating stuff, and the public feeds
daily at the evil mess. There is more
occasion for law enforcement than
ever before, even in the wild western
frontier days. There are too many
loopholes of escape for offenders;
high class city shows can’t be. Kings-
!nn Theater, at Kingsville, usually
puts on the big pictures along with
the cities. If you don’t believe this,
just watch the daily papers. Last
Sunday's San Antonio papers adver-
tised Marion Davies in "Yolanda,” for
Sunday and Monday. The same pic-
ture schmved here Monday and Tues-
day.
Another newspaper headline states
ihat the State “may abandon bank
system ’’ Lots of individuals have al-
ready done such a thing( particularly
as tax paying time and the Christmas
season approach.
A lack of co-operation rather then
tin1 practice of co-operation is one
tiling tlie matter with Kleberg county.
It simply doesn't exist when the real
time comes for its functioning. There
is one why. then another; none of
them sound, when it comes to com-
munity progress. There is too little
sacrificing of personal opinions and
individual lutpr-ests for cooperation to
live in such a poisoned atmosphere.
It takes some broad-mindedness along
with a small portion of sacrifice. No-
body. apparently, is willing to spend
either. Several months ago the Ro-
mentioned drug firm, and a larger of-
fice for Doctor Allison.

Cough Remedy Mother

Pine Tar and Honey Beat
A1I Modern Drugs
In thousands of families it has
been the custom for many years to
keep pine tar and honey always on
hand for coughs, chest colds, bron-
chitis, spasmodic croup, and throat
irritations. Our mothers knew that
it was good, that it often broke up
the worst cough in 24 hours, anil
that it could be given to young and
old alike, as it contains no nar-
cotics or harmful drugs.
And now we are told that in spRe
of modern medical discoveries there
Is still no better or quicker cough
remedy. Doctors say the pine tar
quickly loosens and removes the
phlegm and congestion that cause the
coughing, also healing soreness,
while the honey not only gives a
pleasant taste, but helps soothe Irri-
tation.
The original compound, made up
many years ago and used by mil-
lions of people, was Dr. Bell’s Pine-
Tar Honey. This is scientifically
composed of just the right propor-
tions of pine tar, honey and other
quick-aeting, healing ingredients
which the best doctors have found
to aid in quick relief. If you want
