ness visitor to Austin this
week. He did not confide in
us the nature of his visit, but
we hope it had to do with road
wurk on highway number 12,
from the Jim W'ells County
line South to the Hildago coun-
ty line. It is hoped Judge
Brooks will bring back definite
linflarmatlon regarding 4when
fconstruction will begin.

Mrs. M. A. Hinnant and two
grandsons, Lamar and Dick
Hinnant, returned Sunday
from a few days visit to the
ranch near Lagarto.
Arthur Cook and family have
returned from a several days
visit to relatives and friends at
Martindale and vicinity. He
says crops are very spotted in
that section.
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Good-
enough, their daughter, Mrs.
Jack Ervin, and Miss Emma
Lee Wright of Corpus Christi,
were the guests of Mrs. W. A.
Fleimng last Saturday.
Dr. Robert Blumer who has
been spending some weeks in

redo where he has accepted a
position with a grocery con-
cern in that city. For the pre-
sent Mrs. Gore is employed in
the Falfurrias post office.
Little Miss Elizabeth John-
son of Mirando. is visiting her
grandparents, Mr. and Mfs. E.
P. Johnson, in Falfurrias this
week, while her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Bryon Johnson, are
in San Antonio.

Miss Gladys and Marjorie
i Spark, Beth Oberwetter and
Ethel Proctor visited Corpus
Christi last Saturday on a shop-
ping expedition. They report
lots of activity in our new port
city.
Mrs. Otto Feenstra has re-
turned from a visit to the Dal-
las Fair and reports an enjoy-
able time. Says the fair was a
great success and the Falfur-
rias Jerseys kept up their re-
cord for being the best in the
world.
Mrs. George Collins and lit-
tle daughter returned Tuesday
evening from San Antonio,
where they have been spending
several weeks. Mr. Collins
went up Saturday to accom-
pany his family home.

ed from a four months stay
with her daughter, Mrs. C. E.
Carroll, at Alma, Kansas. Mrs.
Kinne says she had a very de-
lightful visit to the old home
town, enjoyed renewing old ac-
quainces and friendships and
meeting those who had come
since she lived there, but is ex-
tremely glad to get back home
again.
