Being Lost.
The Texas A. & I. Athletic Council will award seventeen
regular letters, six reserve letters, three freshmen letters,
and one manager letter to the football players in the College
for the season of 1929. Of the seventeen regulars, eight are
backfield men, three are ends, two tackles, three are guards
and one center. Some of the backtield men. however, played
the first part of the season in the line.

few days the squad has been
under the* direction of Cal
Jewitt, assistant coach. Bud
McCallum, head coach, has
been in Dallas in attendance
on the meeting of the T. I.
A. A. coaches and officials.
The workouts consist of limber-
ing up exercises, goal shooting,
both short and long range, dribbl-
ing. pivoting, and passing. At the
end of each practice session the
squad is divided into groups of
five, and the boys work on taking
the ball down the floor and under
the basket.
Four Lettermen Back

Elmore, the captain of this
year’s squad, will play his third

Crumpton Leaves School
The loss of Brvan Crumpton was
not taken with any delight in tlie
camp of the Juvelinus. Crumpton
withdrew from school a few weeks
ago and decided not. to return for
the winter season.

man. He has coached at Wichita

School for several years. One

high in the conference race. It
was Bud McCallum who developed
Leo Baldwin, famous for winning
tho state track in*et all by him-
self and who later became i star
athlete at Texas University.
Cal Jewitt Is the assistant coach
in the College. He is a graduate
of St. Edwards University. Cal
was a star lineman under Jack
Meagher, now coach at Jtice In-
* stitute. lie came to A. & f. highly
recommended, and has certainly
come through In fine fashion.
