a speech of presentation given by
Miss Dietz, the gifts were opened
and displayed. They included
many beautiful pieces of china and
cut glass, linen and silver. A de-
licious plate lunch, consisting of
chicken salad, dumplings, olives,
hot buttered rolls and hot choco-
late was served to the friends
gathered there.
Delta Decka
The Delta Deckas were enter-
tained Thursday with a charming
bridge party at the home of Miss
Helen Barker. The menu of the
luncheon served included chicken

Mrs. D. B. Cage was hostess to
the Woman's Missionary Union of
the Methodist church last week,
when they entertained with u
Christmas party honoring the out-
going and incoming officers. A
beautiful Christmas tree was the
center of attraction, and the
games played were suggestive of
the Christmas gala season. Mrs.
Lon Johnson gave a clever read-
ing. Refreshments served includ-
ed chicken salad, mints, cakes and
iced tea.
B. Y. P. U. Party
Mrs. L. Y. Stewart was hostess
to the High School B. Y. P. U.
Saturday at her home on Kenedy.
After several games were played,
the guests were served with punch
and sandwiches.
Dance for Younger Set
Misses Mon tie Marie and Eula
Mae Woodall were hostesses tit
an informal dance at the home of
her sister. Mrs. J. K. Cowling, Fri-
day night. The personnel of the
party included Misses Alyee and
Doris Bentley, Frances Joues.

Entre Nous Bridge Club.
Mrs. Ed. Bouchers was hostess
to the Entre Nous Bridge Club on
Tuesday evening til her home on
Seventh street. The living room
was attractive in its decoration of
poinsettas and holly and the soft
lights cast a pretty glow about the
room. A pretty Christmas tree
with many lights added to the at-
tractiveness of the home. The col-
ors significant of the approaching
holiday were carried out in all the
appointments. After a series of
spirited games Mrs. Frank Harper
was awarded the high score prize,
an attractive bridge set in a hand-
painted leather case. Miss Come-
dos cut. a pretty pillow, and Mrs,
Bert Westbrook was given a
clever kitchen set for consolation.

Kid Christmas Party
A most interesting high school
sbcial was the “kid” and Christmas
party given Tuesday by the pep
squad girls for the football boys.
The Country Club was decorated
with tlii- school colors, black and
gold, and the customary Christmas
colors. A real Santa Claus doled
out presents from a beautiful
Christmas tree .which occupied the
place of chief interest. The football
players and the pep producers
were all attired in an exceedingly
juvenile fashion and played very
juvenile games. Chicken salad
sandwiches, soda pop, lollypops,
cookies, apples and oranges were
served; then the young people en-
joyed dancing:.
Chaperones for the affair, were
Misses Katherine Bryant and Isa-
bel Foster, and Messers W. E-
Davis and Frank Warner.
Tuesday Bridge
A profusion of lovely red roses
were attractively arranged in the
decoration of Mrs. H. A. Murray’s
home when she was hostess to the
"Silk Stocking” Club which met
last Tuesday. Mrs. John Cypher
excelled at bridge and received the
high score prize.

A candle salad, crackers, indi-
vidual pie, cheese and coffee were
served.
Business Girls Class Entertains
Members of the Business Girls J
Class of the Baptist church ami j
several invited guests were enter-
tained Tuesday evening at the j
home of Mrs. G. E. Sims when
Misses la'ona Muckey, Hallie Mar-j
tin and Annie Glazener were the j
hostesses at a lovely Christmas
party.
The home was aglow with r*‘d
shaded lights and other Christmas
decorations. Tin* center of at true- 1

| ed, was a miniature house stir- i
j rounded by cedar trees and grass j
, covered with make-believe snow,
and from which the red lights |
glowed in keeping with the Christ- !

Women’s Auxiliary Meeting.
The Women’s Auxiliary of the
Methodist Church were entertained
last Friday, Dec. 13, with a pleas-
ant Christmas party at the home
of Mrs. F. E. Lesh on East Lott.
The devotional was led by Mrs.
R. G. Drewry, who used the second
chapter of Matthew. Mrs G. ]. Gil-
liland then read “The Story of the
Other Wise Man” (Henry Van
Dyke) in a manner most pleasing
to her audience. After many of
the beautiful old carols were sung
by the ladies present, Mrs. W. H.
Walsh, acting as Santa Claus, dis-
tributed gifts from a Christmas
tree to each of the ladies. Fruit Mrs. Clyde Nanny of Riviera
cake with whipped cream and cot- spent Monday with her s*u. Or-
