Methodist Church
Last Sunday there was good atten-
dance at services both morning and
* veiling at tlit* Methodist church. Rev.
Heall, who was expected to preach
in the morning, did not come. Broth-
er David Roberts, the pastor, preach-
ed at both services.
V. E. Matlv went to Houston Sun
day to visit his mother. Mr. Matly
is now permanently located in Har-
lingen, and liis family expect to join
him soon.
Community Meeting
There will be Community meeting
Friday night, April 15th A program
is being arranged by the school.
All A Mistake
“All a Mistake" was presented here
Friday night by the members of the
Methodist church of Kingsville. It is
to be regretted that it was not better
advertised in our community, for uoi
many attended the performance. “All
a Mistake” was excellent, and greatly
appreciated by all who saw it. The
actors are to be especially compli-
mented on their presentation of the
play.
Music Meet
A number of students, faculty and
citizens attended the music meet
which was held at the South Texas
State Teachers College on Saturday,
April 2nd. A large number of stu-
dents entered the musical contests,
and there was a great deal of compe-
tition for the cups.

Tlie following is a report of our own
entrants in the events of the county
meet which was held at Kingsville,
April 2nd. Ii failed to appear in last
week's Record, hut we tire anxious
for the community to know the result
of our own pupils in the various events
so we are merely listing our own
individual winners.
Entries in arithmetic: Margaret
Remlinger and Alice Sullivan, fourth.
Music memorv: Enla Roone and
Audrey McIntyre.
Senior spelling: Alma Louise Moses
and Ronice McIntyre, first.
Junior spelling: Eugene Patterson
and Margaret Remlinger, first.
Sub-Junior spelling: Josephine Sul
livan and Decline Guinn, fourth.
Senior Girls athletics: Anna Marie

Easter Dance
We have this week seen posters ad-
vertising a dance which is to he given
at the Community House Monday
night, April 18th, which is the day
following Easter Sunday. The music
is to he by “Shorty’s Five” of Kings-
ville, and the Community Club will he
benefited by the proceeds from the
da nee.
