This wus one of the best socials we
have had. They all did their parts
just fine. We then had our business
meeting. Delicious cream and cake
was served to the following: Mrs.
Airhart. R. L. Hamilton, Donahue,
George, Possleman, Ligon, Adams,
Pruitt, K. B. Brown, Ahrens, House,
Price, McClaugherty, Pullen, Bros. J.
M. Garner. Visitors: Womack, Jen-
kins, Wilkinson, Northcut, Custer, W.
J. Galliger, Spurlock, Mrs. Adair, Mrs.
Stripling and Melba Hatter .Mary
Margaret Sinclair.—Class Reporter.
and other games were the diversions
of the evening. Miss Helen Blake-
more and John D. Finnegan Jr. were
the winners of the respective girls'
and boys' prizes in bridge. Other
prizes were awarded Misses M ary
Grace Barnett and Elizabeth Moore,
and Robert Raiford and Ben F. Wil-
son Jr. The honoree was preseuted
with a lovely necklace. An ice course
was served. Other guests were Miss
Betty Finnegan and Annie Louise
Neely, and Edgar Erard, Robert Fer-
guson and Frank Ballard.
Visiting Girl Honored
Mrs. John Cypher entertained Mon-
day evening in her home on East Ken-
edy avenue, honoring her niece. Miss
Ernestine Weir, of Houston. Bridge
Fort Worth and New Orleans
Visitors Honored
Many social affairs have honored
Mrs. Gillls Johnson and Miss Alice
Jennings of Fort Worth, the guests
of Mrs. Johnson’s mother, Mrs. R. G.
Flato. The party spent the past week
in Corpus Ohristi, where they were
tile honor guests at two dinner dances
one given at the Plaza Hotel and one
at tile Breakers Hotel. Mrs. Gay C.
Brinson entertained with a dinner in
her home on East King Avenue, hon-
oring Mrs. Johnson and Miss Jennings
on Tuesday evening .and Mrs. Bill
Young is entertaining this morning
with a breakfast in her country home,
naming Mrs. Johnson, Miss Jennings
Alice and Arthur
Perrenot Honored
Misses Audrey Coehran and Pauline
Nicholson entertained Monday after- j
noon at the home of Mrs. W. R. Coch-
ran witli u party honoring Alice and
Arthur Perrenot, who leave Wednes-
day for San Antonio to make their ^
home. After attending a matinee, |
the guests enjoyed games on the lawn
and Mrs. Cochran and Mrs. Nicholson
served ice cream and cake to several
friends of the honorees.
Shower for Bride
Honoring Mrs. Walter Green, a
bride of the past week, Mrs. Charlie
Stahl entertained Tuesday evening in
her home on North Second street
with a miscellaneous shower. A va-
riety of cut flowers were notes In a
color scheme of rose and green,
which was evident in refreshments
of ice cream with angel food muffins
ami dainty mint baskets of colored
confections. With the honoree plac-
ed in her chair, a program of music
answered questions as to the progress
of her romance from its beginning.
Misses Portia ami Loehie Barnhill.
Haltom Moore Marriage
Miss Irma Moore, daughter of Rev.
M. C. Moore, Baptist minister of Ed-
na, and Isaac Haltom were married in
Goliad Sunday afternoon at 4:30
o'clock, ltev. Harwood performing the
ceremony.
After a brief tour of coastal points
Mr. and Mrs. Haltom are at home at
(’>17 West Kleberg Avenue. Mr. Hal-
tom is employed in the Palace Barber
Shop.
Mrs. Harlan Laws and the hostess
contributed to this program. Miss
Annette Fronune was awarded a suit-
able prize for a game which lasted
throughout the evening. A lovely
cedar chest, the bride’s gift from her
husband, was brought in with a load
of pretty gifts.
The honoree was presented with a
bride’s book containing the best
wishes of her friends.
Greeu-Stahl Marriage
Miss Minnie Stahl, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. R. M. Stahl, and Walter B.
Green, formerly of Santa Monica.
Calif., were united in marriage at the
family residence on West King Av-
enue, Wednesday afternoon at 3
o’clock, ltev. J. M. Garner performed
the ritual, which was witnessed by
members of the family only.
Mr. and Mrs. Green left for a brief
trip to Corpus Christ!, since when
they are at home in Kingsville, where
they are engaged In business at
“John’s Place.”

received her education in the H. M.
King high schoei. Mr. Green accom-
panied Mr. and Mrs. Stahl and family
when they returned recently from
spending the winter in Santa Moni-
