G. M. Hutselt and daughter,
Bessie May, returned last week from
Cloverdale, Center Springs and So-
noma County, California, where Mrs.
Hutsell had been visiting. Miss Bes-
sie Mae Hutsell will visit here for a
while, after which she intends to re-
turn to California.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hays and daugh-
ter, Virginia, have returned from a
two weeks visit with Mrs. L. Luckett
in Austin.
Mr. and Mrs. M. Nuckols spent Wed
nesday and Thursday in the Valley.
M. C. Hickman and son, Max, and
daughter, Nelda, left Monday morn-
ing for their home in Hot. Springs,
Ark., after a week's visit with his
brother, J. J. Hickman, and family.
William Graham of Houston is vis-
itinng his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. G.
Weeks and son on First and Kleberg
for a few days.

Mrs. S. P. Denham of Dunsmuir,
California, and her brother, visited
Mrs. U. S. Bitterman and other
friends last week, prior to undergo-
ing an appendicitis operation at the
Spohn Sanitarium, Corpus Christi, on
Friday morning. Mrs. Denham, who
is under the care of Dr. Yeager, has
done very well since the operation.
Mr. Denham will visit in Kingsville
this week.
SMALL BLAZE AT COT-
TON YARD SUNDAY
Five bales of cotton were slightly
damaged by fire at the Kingsville
cotton yard Sunday about 1:30 p. m.,
the blaze supposed to have originated
in the ginning and to have worked its
way through one of the bales just be-
fore it was discovered.
The fire was promptly extinguished
by the use of the chemical engine.
This was the first call for the fire
department in more than a month
and, according to an official of the
department, there has been no insur-
ed loss during the year in the city.
Mrs. Jack Perrenot and children
left today for San Antonio, where they
will make their home in the future.
Mesdames W. R. Cochran and
Frank Kirk spent Tuesday in Corpus
Christ!.
Mrs. W. M. Jones is convalescing
at the Kleberg County Hospital. Her
mother, Mrs R. T. Nelson of Corpus
Christi haa been at her bedside for
the past four days.

W. Carroll, and her sister, Mrs. V. E. j
Lanfear.
Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Neal left Sun- I
day afternoon for Temple, where Mrs.
Neal is being examined by the Scott
& White Clinic. Their stay will be
of a week or longer duration.
Mrs. J. D. Gibbs has returned from
a two weeks visit with her friend,
Mrs. H. C. Dennett, in Houstou.
R. T. Nelson of Corpus Christi wras
a visitor in Kingsville Thursday.
Miss Mary Lou Ballard returned
the first of the week from a visit
Miss Eva Mae Martin of Palestine,
formerly of t^is place, is the guest of |
Miss Annabel Ellis on West King
Avenue.
Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Robertson and
son, Joseph, returned the last of the
week from a vacation trip to the
Davis Mountains.
R. M. Hamm and daughter. Johnnie
Bee. arrived Thursday to join Mrs.
Hamm and daughters, Mary Belle and
Ruth, after a motor trip from their
former home in Plalnview. Miss
Mary Belle Ham came last Monday
from Dallas, where she had been a
summer student at S. M. U.
Albert York of Victoria was the
week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
Rothschmitt.
Miss Bessie Rees will leave Wed-
nesday night for Palestine to spend
her vacation.
