H D CLUB TO MEET
The regular meeting of the
Pleasant Valley Home Demon-
stration Club is to be held Tues-
day, June 23, 2 p. m. at the
Pleasant Valley Community Cen
ter with Mrs. R. J. Kelly and
Mrs. Harry Klar as hostesses.
The program scheduled for
May on Weight Control and this
month’s program on Foods Dem
onstration will be presented. Mrs
Arnold Marquardt, chairman of
the Ladies Advisory Board of
the Fair Association will also be
present to discuss fair exhibits
with the members.

FAMILY REUNION
One hundred and fifty de-
scendants of Hermann and Caro
line Uecker celebrated their an-
nual reunion on Sunday, June
14, at the Boerne Shooting Club.
A barbecue and basket dinner
was enjoyed at noon. The de-
licious barbecued lamb, pork and
chicken was furnished by Mrs.
Fritz Stieler, and Mr. Rodolph
Smith of Comfort.
Relatives came from Freder-
icksburg, New Braunfels, John-
son City, Blanco, Comfort, Hous
ton, San Antonio and Boeme.
Those who traveled the great-
est distance this year were Mr.
and Mrs. Herbert Willke of
Houston and their daughter,
Mrs. Flowers, and two children
from Tyler, Texas.
The oldest in attendance were
Mrs. Ella Merz of Stonewall,
and Mrs. Emma Prochnow of
Johnson City, both 83 years old.
The youngest was one month
old, Brenda Gail, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwarz
of San Antnoio.
Mr. Arnold Theis of San An-
tonio has been chairman for the
past several years.
The Schwarz reunion will be
held at the Boeme Shooting
Club on Sunday, June 28th.

CEREMONY
St. Barnabus Episcopal Chur-
ch, Fredericksburg held ground
breaking ceremonies on Thurs-
day for a new $40,000 sanctuary,
the Rev. Jack Langford conduc-
ted the services.
The Rt. Rev. Earl Dicus, the
Rev. Canon Gerald McAllister,
the Rev. C. N. Coffman, the
Rev. William Douglas, the Rev.
Dr. J| H. Townsend, John Liv-
ingston and Gilbert Kaderli as-
sisted in the ground breaking
services which followed a buffet
dinner.
Those going from St. Helena’s
were Mesdames J. O. Ammann,
Alfred Gray, Henry Moss, Fos-
ter Becker, Joe Sill, Chas. Mc-
Cown, Archie Gerfers, Max Poss
A. Sugg and H. M. Pegram.

Mrs. John Taylor entertained
with a patio party Friday even-
ing for Miss Nancy Davis who
is leaving for six weeks of learn-
ing and luaus in Hawaii. The
table was spread in the luau man
ner with decorations of pine-
apple halves filled with fruit and
decorated with flowers.
Mrs. W. Wright of Comfort
was a visitor in Boeme Monday.
