payment made for 1976-crop
upland cotton
Under the Agriculture and
Consumer protection Act o(
1973, deficiency payments are
made to producers when the
average market price received
by farmers for upland cotton
during the calendar year is less
than the established "target"
price
The national weighted
average price received by
producers for upland cotton
during the 1976 calendar year
was 60 6 cents a pound Since
this is above the target price of
43 20 cents, there will lx1 no
deficiency payments
