I cup sugar

l tsp almond extract
Combine all ingredients, put
in a creased tin Bake 30
minutes at 300 degrees Serve
with ice cream on top. with
chocolate syrup or frozen
rasptierries or strawberries

Mayonnaise
Dissolve gelatin in boiling
water Add cold water, lemon
Juice and salt (31111 until
mixture begins to thicken
Spoon about cup gelatin into
a I <ji mold and arrange a layer
of sliced bananas in gelatin
Chill until almost set
Meanwhile, mix remaining
banana slices, larrots. celery
and jnckle with remaining
gelatin and spoon over banana
layer Chill until firm Cnmold
and serve on lettuce with

To garnish Scrape and cut
and additional carrot into 11
inch slice* Snip triangular
pieces Irom each slice to form

around mold and top each with
a carrot flower

5 small onions, peeled
ti small carrots, halved

Dredge meat in flour and
salt, lirown in shirtening over
medium heat
Add water, barbecue sauce.
celery and vermouth Bring to
a boil, reduce heal and
simmer, covered, until meal is
almost tender, about 45
minutes, stirring constantly
Add onions and carrots
Continue cooking, stirring
occasionally, about to minutes
longer or until meat and
vegetable* are lender
Remove vegetables to healed

into meat sauce mixture, heat

1 cup brown sugar
' t cup cocoa
1 tbsp cornstarch
tsp salt
2 cups water
2 tbsp butter or margarine
Combine brown sugar,
cocoa, cornstarch and salt in
heavy trying pan Stir in water
Conk until mixture begins to
boil and thicken slightly,
stirring constantly Add butter
or margarine and mix welt
Remove from heal while
making Chocolate Dumplings
Dumplings
Dumplings:
1 cup sifted Hour
2 tsp baking powder
‘j tsp salt
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp cocoa
:! tbsp lard

1-3 i one-third 1 cup milk
I tsp vanilla
Sift together flour, baking
powder, salt, sugar and cocoa
Add lard, egg. milk and
vanilla Stir to blend
ingredients. then beat

and other dangers while going to and returning home from
school. Police Lieutenant Randy Wright Friday talked to the
