McQuinn’s
OF INTEREST TO HUNTERS
Texas Parks and Wildlife De-
partment reports Leon County
in East Texas is having a good
deer season. Hunters bagged 500
deer on the opening day. This is
noteworthy as only deer with
pronged antlers may be taken.
In Woodville, a Tyler man
bagged his deer in thick brush
country, he was hunting where
a shotgun is almost a necessity,
a six point fell with one antler
slightly nicked, the antler com-
pletely in velvet, bled freely,
horns in velvet are a rarity this
time of year. A Baylor Universi-
ty student on leave at home in
Livingston bagged, a trophy deer
with 27 points, the wide spread
antlers are almost palmated on
the ends, with clusters of points
on each.

RACING RESULTS
James Hollon regained the
slot-car championship in a tight
race Sunday afternoon, only half
a lap ahead of his opponent, Mar-
ius Perron III. Earlier contest-
ants who did not make it to the
finals were Rick Galyean, George
Taylor, Craig Ebensberger, and
Johnny Reed, whose brand-new
“Firebird” proved too fast to
handle, seeing that he was not
used to the new racer. He plans
a Sunday comeback.
BWBA LADIES MEET

You may be fooled. All of its value
may be right there on the face of
it. But underneath, you may have
works that don’t really work well.
Stamped out parts that grind
themselves to pieces. Springs
that spring out of place quickly.
Judge a $10.95 watch by what’s
behind it. Like the quality name
Caravelle by Bulova. The jeweled-
lever movement with precision
fitted parts. The waterproof and
shock-resistant features that go
into every $10.95 Caravelle.
Want to see for yourself? Come

British automotive
sportsman R. R. C.
Walker knows cars,
but one thing he
didn’t knowwas how
quiet the '66 Ford is.
“1966 Ford quieter than my Jaguar?
Not jolly likely!” said Rob Walker
... then he drove the Ford.

Ford’s Quiet Man, who recently demonstrated the 1966 Ford to owners of some of the world’s most expen-
sive cars, here discusses the '66 Ford LTD with Rob Walker at his family's estate in Wiltshire, England.
Astonishing...! believe this Ford of yours really is quieter!”
exclaimed Rob Walker, famed British automotive sportsman.
Ford’s quiet ride is the result of built-in quality and overall engineering excellence.
Other examples of this engineering magic from Ford are: ■ New Stereo Tape
Player option with easy-loading cartridges. ■ New Magic Doorgate on wagons—
swings out like a door for people and down like a tailgate for cargo. ■ Silent-Flo
Ventilation, standard on Ford 4-door hardtops, gives open-window freshness
with all windows closed. ■ Quiet-test a ’66 Ford, at your Ford Dealer’s.
