This study is predicated by the*
Highway Department for the
highway projects, but it will also
help in other maintenance pro-

As to the cost of the study,
Ewaniszyk said tl»e cost could be
borne by the two cities Ingleside
and Aransas Pass
Porter moved to accept the two
cities’ request. The motion was
seconded by Commissioner Carl

^choot Board Awards Contract
ror G-P Fie/dhouse Expansion
A contract not to exceed $82,000
was awarded last week to Pro-
gressive Structures of Corpus
Christ] for expansion of the athletic
field house at G-P High School
The low bid of $91.000 made by this
company was over the original
amount budgeted so Board Trustees
agreed to accept the bid with
modification* not to exceed $82,000
However, at Tuesday nights
meeting, the Board rec onsidered the
bid and amended the contract to
$83.600 This adds $1,600 to the
amount authorized by the Board last
week
In order to lower the coat., post-bid
modifications valued at $13 350 were
suggested by the engineers This
would have lowered the bid to
$77,000
However. Superintendent Dr.
James Hall said he had some con-
cerns ovei the long term cost to the
district thit some of the deductions
would have and wanted to take a
closer loot at tlie suggestions
This w«*ek, the architec t. A I.
Nelson, Hill, Coach Kay Akins and
Vemone Sessions met to discuss an<
approve dcducLions that would lower
the cost and still be acceptable
Some changes approved were to
reduce the water line size from six
inches to i'our inches at the exterior.
eliminate one bank of windows, use
semi-gloss industrial ename l instead
of epoxy paint, use standard non
selfclosing sh-jwer heads, eliminate
ceramic floor tile and delete the

The o
only Board member to vote
against awarding the contract was
