house, or the Lt governor in
the senate, and is (hen assigned
to a committee
"The assignment of a lull to
committee is an extremely
vital step Andrews told his
listeners If the speaker of the
house assigns the hill to an
unfriendly committee and they
in turn delegate if to an
uncaring subcommittee, your
hill is dead for all practical
purposes
If a hill makes it through the
committee routine it is then set
up for a public hearing It can
he referred back to a sub
committee or it can be cleared
by the mam committee and
voted out to the floor of the
house, where it is acted on by
the calendar committee for
assignment for deflate on a
given day If it receives a
favorable vote it then goes to a
conference committee with the
other house to resolve any
differences between hills
passed by the respective
houses
After the committee- finishes
its action, and makes any
changes, it then goes hack to
both houses for approval, or
rejection Hills that win
approval go to the governor for
his approval The governor has
todays to accept, or veto, a bill

body adjourns
