J. Davis Hill and family of
Marshall, T<(xas, visited friends
here during the week-end. Mr.
Hill is the former high school
principal here.
Sunday evening marks the close
of the revival which has been in
progress for several days. JRev.
Graves Darby of Waco, Texas,
has been leading in the revival.
Rev. Darby i? doing the most
practical preaching for such
times as we are facing. The great-
est need in every life is to rightly
relate oneself to the purpose of
God in his life. Such revivals as
are a most important help in lo-
cating that relation. Everyone is
urged to attend every remaining
service.

Old time friends from every
part of West Texas and from
points in Oklahoma and New
Mexico paid last respects Sunday
to Jesse S. Wynne, pioneer Pan-
handle resident who died at the
family home in Pampa Friday- af-
ternoon.
The main floor of the high
school auditorium, where the
First Presbyterian church is hold-
ing services, was filled and many
were seated in the balcony. Floral
offerings completely filled the
huge stage and the orchestra pit.
Rain, which Mr. Wynne loved
to 'watch falling, arrived just as
the service started. Another hea-
vy rain fell as the long procession
of cars reached the cemetery and
it was some time before the ser-
vice at the grave could he con-
ducted.
The Rev. Robert Boshen, pas-
tor of the First Presbyterian
chui’ch, of which Mr. Wynne was
an elder, conducted services as-
sisted by the Rev. C. Gordon Bay-
less, pastor of the First Baptist
church, and the Rev. B. A. Nor-
ris, pastor of the First Christian
church. Burial was under direc-
tion of Huffman-Nelson Funeral
Home.
Rev. Boshen eompai’ed Mr.
Wynne’s last few days with those
of Christ.
“Mr. Wynne lived Christ’s
words, “Be of good cheer,” dur-
ing the last days arid weeks of
his life,” Rev. Boshen said. “Al-
though it was the time in-life
when troubles, sorrow and grief
overtake a person, Mr. Wynne
