You may talk of various breakfast foods-they are pretty good, I guess
For lots of folks now use them and they like them—more or less,
But after all, there is nothing beats—when all is done and said,
The sustenance contained in loaves of Schaefer’s famous bread.
White bread or graham—every kind—are always here for sale,
The body-building sort of bread which daily tells its tale,
And satisfaction follows fast—when as The Staff of Life,
Men have it on their tables for the children, self and wife

Buffraaa Farad® Passlna New Public
Library and Marie Stuart, Parade
Leader.
Fifteen thousand suffragists pa-
raded the streets of New York on
the afternoon of Saturday, May 4.
Marching up Fifth avenue between
the throngs of spectators who crowd-
ed the sidewalks, the women march-
ers presented an impressive spec-
tacle. The slogan, “Votes for
■Women” was everywhere in ev-
idence.
As the paraders passed the New
York Public Library, more than
6,000 persons were massed in front
of the building.
No feature of the parade attracted
more attention than Miss Marie
Stuart, who led one division. Attired
as Joan of Arc, Miss Stuart showed
herself an expert horsewoman by
her skillful handling of her spirited
mount.
ETON’S THREE-PENNY DAY.
I •
Custom Has Betfn in Vogue for Nearly
Four Hundred Years.
Eton has celebrated “three-penny
day,” when a new three-penny piece is
presented to each of the pupils. The
custom was founded nearly 400 years
ago by Roger Lupton, who was pro-
vost of the college from 1502 to 1535.
Lupton arranged with the fellows for
an annual distribution of money on
the anniversary of his death. The
provost received 2 shillings 8 pence,
the fellows, head master and Lupton's
chaplain 1 shilling 4 pence, the other
chaplains and usher, 8 pence, the clerks
fi penco and the scholars and choris-
ters 1 pence each.
